The Kinks' Ray Davies To Receive Prestigious Honour
For influencing a generation...

The Kinks’ founding member Ray Davies is set to be honoured with a prestigious Icon Award.
The gong comes from the US performing rights organisation Broadcast Music Inc. and is given to artists and songwriters who are seen to have influenced a generation of music makers.
Past British winners of the award include Van Morrison and Steve Winwood, while James Brown has also won in the Urban category.
The 2006 ceremony is to be held at London’s Dorchester Hotel on October 3.
