Another thriller!
As for songs...I didn't hear that many, only got there around 10 PM.
Heard:
Casino Boogie--rehearsed a few times
Hot Stuff-ditto, and with jazzy horns!
Sway
Mother's Little Helper
Heart of Stone
They took long breaks after doing a song--about 30 minutes, then
practice the same song over. Maybe they've decided on these songs
for a club gig?
I got quite the surprise--Mick's bodyguard/driver (same one in "Being
Mick") was standing outside, saw me wearing my Brian Jones t-shirt
with a gigantic close-up of BJ's face a la Rock N Roll Circus...never
spoke to this guy before, but earlier tonite he nodded to me on his
way in...anyways, he looks at my shirt & says to me, "Are you the
person with the Brian Jones website?"
I said yeah, & asked how he knew about it, if he saw it...he seemed
like he didn't want to answer, then said he might check it out the
next day. I asked if Mick had seen it, he told me I'd have to ask him
myself. He goes inside. About 15 minutes later, another security
guard comes up & asks me for the URL of my BJ site.
(P.S...Mick if you check out my site, I'm having problems with the URL right now for some reason, god help me..lol)
Then Mick came out about 12:30. Wearing a tiny yellow t-shirt. He
stood for a second waving, looking at the crowd. I forgot to bring
the damn picture I wanted him to sign of him in Performance, but
found another in my book of him at the Hyde Park concert for Brian.
So I held up my book high with the picture.
AND MICK CAME STRAIGHT OVER TO ME AND SIGNED MY
BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol. It is true. I kid you not! I am so excited right now it's like
i'm on cloud nine. Unbelievable!
He was trying to sign with my silver pen but it wasn't working...a
moment of (Jezuz god no!) then he found another pen (ahhh) & signed.
There's 2 pages to the photo, but he signed on the side where Keith
is, not on the side where he is.
I told him I love him, ever since I was 16. It's funny that you
always dream you'll say something witty if this moment ever happens,
and when it does you sound like a starstruck schoolgirl completely
overcome with emotion.
He also signed about 4 other people on my side, then looked like he
had enough, and stopped. God!! I will never forget this moment as
long as I live!! I'll scan it soon.
Charlie came out with the horns & left. I left soon after that.

It just keeps gettin better. BTW, congrats Miss U on gettin Micks autograph, very lucky!
Also, how did these songs sound? Could ya hear em very well from outside?

Very interesting and emotional! Should I no longer intend to boycott the tour, I hope, that they play "Hot Stuff" in Vienna. "Mother's Little Helper" hasn't been played since 1966, but how does it sound without Brian and Bill? |

Of course *NOW* I think of tons of things I shoulda said to Mick...but in the end it's all about ~love~.
I remember as he was approaching me, smiling & looking directly into my eyes, I said "Mick baby!!!". lol. I love his smile...heck, there's not much about Mick I don't like.
After he signed he stood there for a few seconds just a foot away, smiling...and I took him all in. Was too mesmerized to take a picture. |
