Topic: Remastered stuff Return to archive

swapwoodfortaylor I'm looking forward to running the 'new' remastered stuff through my hi-fi. I cannot find the german sampler referred to by IORR. I'm not too optimistic, but remain open minded. I use vinyl to get the (current) optimum Stones sound. That's fine but the English 'Out Of Our Heads' remains a huge disappointment in terms of sound quality. Wonderful musicianship though. The triple CD called 'London Years' (I think) is so badly digitally transferred that I cannot even enjoy any tracks unless on a cheap CD player with background party noise! The 'Through Past Darkly' is an early example of digital transfer. Although a poor sound compared to analogue vinyl it is far better than the 'London Years'. I cannot understand why there is such a diference. Any experts out there to explain differences / inefficiencies? What prospects for a clean sound with the reissues?

On June 16, 2001 the hit counter of the WET page was inserted here, it had 174,489 hits. Now the hit counter is for both the page and the board. The hit counter of the ITW board had 1,127,645 hits when it was closed and the Coolboard didn't have hit counter but was on line only two months and a half.
