Topic: IORR claims A BIGGER BANG is the offical title Return to archive

Poison Dart According to IORR A Bigger Bang is the title to the new Stones record.

I know we've heard about a million album titles at this point. But this sounds more offical.

Some Guy Not a good idea with all these bombs going off all around the world.

Gazza Figured that name sounded feasible when it was first mentioned a couple of weeks ago. "A Bigger Bang" simply sounds like a tour name - so they probably chose the album title to tie in with the tour.

Same with the last studio album - the title got changed to one which tied in with the theme of the tour. "Blessed Poison" didnt really work as a tour name. "Bridges To babylon" did.

Cant say I'm crazy about the name, though - but it seems official now if Bjornulf is reporting it as the title

texile jeez some guy - i hadn't though of that....you have a point.
you think its intentional and maybe the album WILL have political content? or is it just a sexual entendre -
i mean, no one ever accused the stones of NOT being shallow in a time of grave circumstances.
i actually like that title.........

I dunno, some scientists think the universe was created by the "big bang". If you name your album a bigger bang... well it better be damn good!
July 25th, 2005 07:55 PM
Gazza maybe its a subtle dig that the Stones "bang" will be "bigger" than U2's "atomic bomb"

Yeeeeeeeah Gazza, you're so clever!
July 25th, 2005 08:01 PM
Soldatti I like the title, it sounds like a hit to U2.
July 25th, 2005 08:08 PM
MrPleasant There's an MC5 "best of" compilation called "The Big Bang". Trivial enough, but weren't MC5 once Jagger's favorite band?
July 25th, 2005 08:35 PM
TheSavageYoungXyzzy I heard on the radio today that the title'd be The Little Wonders or something along those lines.

Again, though, what does the radio know?
July 25th, 2005 09:49 PM
T&A there'd better be bigger bangs than RJ or SOL....
July 26th, 2005 03:47 AM
ResidentMule the 'new album' page still says the title's unconfirmed. sounds like iorr's just repeating the rumors we've already heard.

but a jab at U2's album gives me a little more optimistic thought over this supposed title, even thoguh the cover image I keep picturing is a spliced version of No Security & Stripped
July 26th, 2005 08:36 AM
gimmekeef Might be tied into a first song start like Steel Wheels with that huge explosion to kick off the show. For $450 I'm at least hoping for that!

The same in EMI Brasil. The record company also says the first single is Streets of Love, to be delivered to radio stations around the world in July, 22.

And right now I confirmed with a local radio, they received the single this morning. "A silly ballad", the guy radio said to me.
