Can someone who was at the show please comment on what happened. It sounds as if some "bad apples" intended to injure other fans and the band themselves. This could have proven to be disastrous:

Some good news-bad news. First of all a huge thank you to the Stones Italy fan club. They threw an amazing, amazing party with two fabulous tribute bands the night before the show. Great guitar work, super nice people. And no cover at the door which was shocking and great. Grazie Fabio!!! You rock!!
Last night the Stones were amazing, as always...BUT....
The show was so undersold that they had to turn the stage so it was in the center of the field. Then about a half hour before the Stones came on, the police opened the gate from the top seating sections and hundreds upon hundreds of people ran onto the floor, stealing seats, pushing, pulling and making life incredibly miserable for those of us that ponied up and paid for floor seats. The man next to me (a seat stealer) was pealing letters off the chairs so that when the rightful owner came up they couldnt identify their seat. I said "that's bullshit" and here's the part that I'm still pissed at...he says "what is bullshit is paying this much money to see a band that should have retired 20 years ago." RAGE. I told him to go home, to hell, and a few other things then tried my best to ignore him all night.
Then -- all the seat stealers were STANDING on their chairs. So we were forced to stand on ours the entire show. Not the most comfortable. And if that wasn't enough, the Roman fans were THROWING BEER BOTTLES at our boys. Not one, not two, but three made it up to Bstage.
One girl from Northern Italy, Angie, had saved and saved for a Fan Asylum package and scored an awesome ticket in the first row. Angie is seriously tiny so this was a great thing for her...until hell broke lose and the Roman hords pushed her, stood in front of her, etc. It was a friggin' nightmare. Apart from Stones security -- who were probably pissed as hell -- there was no security at all. None. There were people with sparklers, everyone had cameras including video cameras, and people just acted like there were at the colleseum to see the gladitors fight to the death."
