not if your a Dylan fan...
If BOB DYLAN's tour and the Broadway musical featuring his songs, "The Times They Are A-Changin'," aren't enough for his fans this summer, Lincoln Center is readying "The Music of Bob Dylan" for November 9th. A roster of twenty artists -- including PATTI SMITH, CAT POWER, PHIL LESH, CHRIS and RICH ROBINSON of the BLACK CROWES, ROSANNE CASH, PHILIP GLASS,
MEDESKI, MARTIN AND WOOD and the LEE RENALDO PROJECT -- will offer up one Dylan cover each. The bill benefits the Music for Youth Foundation, which supports music education for underprivileged kids. |

If I lear into JB/Pug's magic crystal ball I can see...
"Masters Of War" done by Warren Haynes & Govt Mule (they play it often)
"Wicked Messenger" done by Patti Smith - maybe even her "Dylans Dog" poem tossed in
"All Along The Watchtower" - by Phil Lesh & Friends - hopefully he brings his friend Chris Robinson out for vocals.
"Girl From The North Country" by Chris & Rich Robinson... though they do so many different Dylan songs that this one is impossible to predict |

Agree.
But with Joan Osborne, not CR, on vox.
She does a much better job on AATW, imho...

Joan's been singing that sweet w/P&F. She lives in NY so I'm sure she'll be there!
Phil & Friends, like the Crowes, have a quite a few tunes from Zim's catalog that they can readily play. So anything goes!
the group finale of this show should be killer - just imagine Al Koooper & Madeski doubling on keys, Phil on bass, Warren Haynes & Rich Robinson on geetar, Patti & Chris sharing vocals, Rosanne on backup.... |
