What is the best Stones song Keith ever sang? What about his solo work? What are some of you're favorites? |

IMO, Happy from 72 tour was his shining moment- excellent.... He also was very good on Little T&A in 81.Further, Keith was always a great(AND OFTEN OVER-LOOKED) back-up for Jagger DURING THEIR golden era..
P.S.-he never really sang BTMMR early on, and the latter renditions have been average to be kind-nothing at all like the rocker it was on Some Girls.
=====================================================
Mordern Keith , imo, probably best on "Thru and Thru".....and also "The Worst"....emotional songs that he puts his heart and soul in...the "mordern" rockers like "Can't be seen", and the awful "Infamy" are really bad.....he has no ability to play any hardd rocking songs in his set anymore, including, tragic ally, the emasculated version he does of Happy.

You can't answer this post without mentioning "Hate it when you leave" from his solo CD "Main Offender"...quite frankly his best song only because it captures emotion at its deepest and truest. Simply Beautiful.

thanks for helping me rediscover that one....he was brilliant at backing vocals on exile, really countryish and wasted! |

Just about any song Keith sings sounds cool. The man's got soul by the truckload.
I especially love his duet with Willie Nelson on "We Had It All" |

sadly we can thank keefs dope use for taking away the ability (dope will change a voice permantly over years of use)to harmonize with Mick in that fuckin fantastic way of there prime (Mick Taylor) years. his newer stuff, is fine for his vocal ability now, but when i hear him attempt happy , although it is his signiture tune, i cringe. as a side note. ya'll should (if you have'nt already) check out Susan Tedeschi's cover of "you got the silver" |

The best vocals Keith has laid down are on his solo recordings. Locked Away, Key To The Highway, and It Means A Lot are my favorites.
With The Rolling Stones, Keith's best vocals are: You Got The Silver, Happy, The Worst, and Thru and Thru. |
