Hi John!!! Hope all went well for you and the band. What a great thing to do for sick children. For those of us with healthy kids, we can never imagine the hardship and suffering these families must be going through. To bring the joy of music to these kids waa great and I know you must feel happy to be able to participate in such a worth while cause.

There is no greater gift than the gift of love. Voodoopug gave of himself so , even if but for a minute, he made a sick child smile, the world is a better place. |

Great work, Pug!
Now that your gig is over I hope you will pardon me if I hijack the thread for a similar topic rather than start a new one.
My band - ONE of my bands - or should I say one of the bands I'm a part of, none of them are "mine" - played this weekend and also had a great time. We didn't raise any money for any charitable causes, just kicked out the jams.
The band is loosely referred to as "The Danny Boy Brown All-Stars" - it's 3 of us from the band I was in in the 70s (see my "30 Years Ago" post from last week)plus some great musicians from Philly, including Eric Senderoff who plays in Shattered - and we were hired to play a private party. We started at 9:30 and played a 75 minute set, took a break, and played another half hour before the police arrived and shut the party down. We were COOKING but hadn't peaked yet - we had another good hour in us at least - and the audience was fit to be tied that we had to stop. They offered to pay the fine for the people throwing the party (who had only received a warning at that point) but that would've only bought a few more songs before the police came back and hauled us all away. So we had to just pack up and go. Oh well, always leave 'em wanting more, they say. It's been decades since the police shut one of our gigs down, so it made us feel like juvenile delinquents.
The setlist was (and always is) mostly Stones. Let's see if I can remember what we played:
Live With Me
Bye Bye Johnny
Spider and the Fly
Let It Bleed
I Got The Blues
Stop Breaking Down
Congratulations
Stray Cat Blues
Little Queenie
Rt. 66
Pills (NY Dolls/Bo Diddley)
Brown Sugar
Carol
Handle With Care (Traveling Wilburys)*
Dead Flowers *
Have You Ever Seen the Rain (CCR)
Gimme Shelter *
and we were playing "My Babe" by the Fabulous T-Birds when the police showed up.
(* - featured vocals by the lovely Miss Candace Youngblood)
I know I forgot some songs, but you get the idea. It rocked!
