LOl Thanks to YOU for providing it. It was really taken during the Surrey Rehearsals? |

To be honest, I am not sure. The Surrey rehearsels were recorded by a visiting interviewer with a tape deck, but I don't know if he took any pics. The picture can also be taken during recording sessions for BB, judging on Jagger's haircut.
To me (a guitar maniac) this picture has always a bit of a mistery, since I don't know the brand of the guitar!

When I first looked at it I thought it might be a Gretsch White Falcon, but it seems too small for that. Recently I saw a photo from the Exile sessions of Mick sitting in front of a row of guitars and there's a White Falcon in the line-up - maybe Keith stole it from Brian when he stole Anita!
It looks like it has a bigsby tailpiece.
At any rate, cool guitar, cooler picture.
Calling Cardinal Fang! He'll clear up this mystery! |

It is not a White Falcon for sure, but it could be either a Gretsch or an Epiphone. On the pickguard a sign can be seen which resembles Gretsch, but the pickguard shape was used by Epiphone.
The picture you refer to with the White Falcon in the background was taken in the basement of Stephan Stills LA home in October 1969, were the Stones rehearsed for the upcoming tour. The guitar belongs to Stills. As far as I know only brain fancied Gretsches, he used a 6119 and a 6120. I have never seen a picture of Keith with a Gretsch, and in an interview with Guitar Magazine he sais that "if I need treble I pick-up a Tele." Ron Wood used a Gretsch White Falcon for the recording of Undercover and Dirty Work, and he liked the guitar so much he used it for many publicity shots from 1983 until 1987.
