Can't help you there. I've never been to Hawaii. I've heard it's expensive though. If I ever were to go to Hawaii though I think I'd skip Ohau and go to some of the smaller, off-the-beaten-track islands. Wish you a safe trip though. |

My honeymoon was in San Francisco and Hawaii in January (bad logistics yes).
I loved a lot Kauai and Maui... smoking a maui-waui is quite an experience!
Back to topic: I remember someone from Honolulu recently, asking for a show there but can't remember his moniker

Oh.
I've been thinking about taking up weed smoking again....for strictly for medicinial purposes. I've got a suspicion that it may help lower blood pressure. |

I have been to Kauai & Maui too! Beautiful places; Some guy and his wife gave me some maui-waui when we stoppped somewhere on the road to Hana. Just gave it to me. Talk about an Aloha! They were an older hippie couple that decided they didn't want to go back to California. Had an interesting discussion with them. I suspect they were farmers. I think you have to grow something to live in Hana. |

I lived in Hawaii for years, and am moving back this fall from even more out of the way islands. I agree, if you really want to experience "island way," skip Oahu. I love the comment about Hana, I actually worked there for a while. Yes, life in Hana can be extremely slow, but the area is is a haven for many of the rich and famous when they want to get "away from it all." George Harrion's Hawaiian retreat is not far from Hana, though I defy most tourists to find it!
But even Maui is a bit commercailized. Go to the Big Island. Do the volanoes. The Big Island of Hawaii ( from which the state gets its name) is bigger than all the other islands combined; the size of a small eastern US state with only 150,000 people. And Maui -Waui has nothing on Kona Gold, now that is the weed to beat all weeds. |

i live in a laidback coastal town in Oz, so seeing a bustling city like Honolulu is what i am looking fwd to.
That and the chance to kickback and do the 'laid back' Hawaii thang.
What is Honolulu like as a city ?
What other cities of the world is it like ?
Cant wait to try the food, see the locals , and snicker at the fat American tourist arses.
Im guessing Honolulu has a heap of US chain stores in its malls etc ?
Whats a cool radio station i could pop into to have a look at ? (pref Rock)
Oh and is a Luau(spelling?) worth it, or are they overpriced and overrated ?
