Sir Stonesalot Recently, I came down harder than I should have on someone. I shouldn't have done it, but I've been fighting a sinus infection and head cold over the past few weeks, and I'm just not my usual jovial self.

Of course, I'm talking about Led Zepplin.

Looking back, I must have come across like I hate Zep. I don't hate them. Heck, I even own some Zepplin. But I never listen to it. There is just so much stuff that I like MORE, you know?

Same with The Dead. I don't hate them either. I completely respect them as a band. And just because one wacked out Deadhead hippy pissed on my girlfriend doesn't mean that I hate all Deadheads...because I don't. I just wish that some of them would put a little more emphasis on bathing.

Anyhow, I hope I didn't put anyone off of either Zep or the Dead. In music, I always say, to each their own.

Except for Peter Frampton, Michael Bolton, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Styx, and the Anti-Christ, Kenny G. Them I hate. In fact, I would love to break that thing Kenny G plays over his ugly, frizzy, head. I'll even take it one step farther. If I ever meet Kenny G, I will slap him for everyone here at the board. That is right, I would bitchslap Kenny G for Rock Off. You have my word.

jb I hate all of the aforementioned groups. By the way SS, just got my copy of Philadelphia Special(why it had to be put on 2 discs puzzles me) and it is quite good.....
06-06-03 10:51 AM
sirmoonie You forgot the Eagles. No band has ever consistently sucked more dick for a longer period of time than the Eagles.
06-06-03 11:02 AM
Sir Stonesalot No, I didn't forget about that band Moonie....I just can't make myself type their name.
06-06-03 11:03 AM
telecaster Whew, my fav WHAM! didn't make SS list.

06-06-03 12:47 PM
gypsy Who would you slap harder, SS-Glen Frey or Don Henley?
I's just gots to know! (<---it's the Joey in me)
06-06-03 12:52 PM
Factory Girl SS, you're so Fuzzy-Wuzzy...yes, indeedy.

I would like to say Queen & Sting (with and without Police).
Also, Ozzy's voice ruins Sabbath for me.
06-06-03 01:00 PM
gypsy I have a bunch of Allegra samples...all you had to do was ask.
06-06-03 01:04 PM
Gazza How could you leave Bon Jovi off that list. No "band" has ever over-achieved so much in terms of sales, longevity and exposure.

those hideously cliched lyrics plus the fact that a generation of musically illiterate fuckwits seem to think these posing talentless twerps are the living definition of "rawk n roll" are often enough to keep me awake at night emotionally disturbed at the future of popular music. The fact that bands in years to come might be influenced by this bilge and see fit to emulate them fills me with dread.

I hate them with a passion.
06-06-03 01:06 PM
Factory Girl My dearest gypsy, what other samples do you have??? I love samples...rotfl
06-06-03 01:38 PM
gypsy I'm a walking pharmacy, sistah.

yes G-- and it almost seems oddly voyeuristic, doesn't it?

06-06-03 01:50 PM
Factory Girl Hi Annie!

Gypsy-My curiosity is peaked...
06-06-03 02:13 PM
Sir Stonesalot I don't hate Bon Jovi. They are so far beneath my contempt, that they are not even on my radar screen.

Look people, my list was certainly not meant to be comprehensive. I didn't have time to list everyone who deserves to be on there. And we all loathe different things, just like we all like different things.

If it makes you feel better to vent, and add names to my "Hall Of Shame", please do so.

I'm always here to help.

Gazza...did I ever tell you about the time I snubbed Jon Bon Jovi? It was a few years back. I was not long out of the Army. Bon Jovi had just broken nationwide. I was on my way to Philly to meet up with some pals. I pulled in to a PA Turnpike rest area for some gas, and some ice cream. So there I am, filling my tank, when this hot, fire red Trans Am pulls up. The windows were all black, and the plate said "BJOVI". A super fine blonde gets out and goes into the restaurant, and Jon Bon Jovi gets out and starts pumping gas. He still had the big hair then. He sees me looking at him, and he nodded my way. I says "So you are him, right?" Thinking I was gonna ask for an autograph or something, he glances around to see who is looking, and he says, "Yeah, I'm Jon." I says, "Oh.", and I turn my back and finish pumping gas. I walked right by him, making an effort to look elsewhere, and paid for my gas. On my way back out, he was coming in, just as I was leaving...and here is the great part...he OPENED THE DOOR for me. I said "Thanks", got in my car and drove away. I totally blew him off. It's still a high point in my life.
06-06-03 02:28 PM
gypsy Are you sure it wasn't just a lookalike? I mean, Bon Jovi is married and has three kids...a real family man.

Not that I want to defend him and bash you...but....that's really sad.

Free Martha!
06-06-03 03:00 PM
Gazza Sad indeed

You should have ran the bastard over.
06-06-03 03:07 PM
Gazza >Are you sure it wasn't just a lookalike? I mean, Bon Jovi is married and has three kids...a real family man.

true,Gypsy but SS says it was around the time he started to get famous ,so that would be mid 80's. I dont think hes been married THAT long.

nice story though,SS. I actually snubbed him once too, when I was waiting outside Springsteen's hotel in Dublin in 1993 and the "fellah with the lady hair" (as he's referred to cult Irish TV show "Podge and Rodge") was hangin around the front door waiting for people to ask him for an autograph (he was staying there at the same time as he was playing Dublin a night or two later). He was promptly ignored by about 100 people. Not as dramatic as your little tale but it seems from these tales that he does have the tendency to do everything short of grabbing your pen and insist on giving you his signature whether you want it or not
06-06-03 03:23 PM
Joey " I hate them with a passion. "

Gary , I would like to nuzzle you .

06-06-03 03:33 PM
Sir Stonesalot Dandy....ever used sarcasm for dramatic effect?

I suppose I should smack that silly English Comp professor that taught us that stuff.

My English Comp Prof...geez, I haven't thought about her in ages. She had purple hair. I invited her to one of my punk band's gigs. She got drunk. Then I fucked her. She let me turn in song lyrics for extra credit. I stopped going to her class. I fucked her a few more times. I got a solid B. I don't think I did enough work in class to even get a grade. Must have been all that "extra credit".
06-06-03 03:49 PM
Dandelion* sarcasm...?....methinks it was a good thing you fucked her then...!

I remember the gent who taught me surrealism...
06-06-03 03:51 PM
Joey " I got a solid B. "

A " B " ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

A " B" ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

That's all you got for all of that Fu##ing you did ?

That's it ....I am now stirred to sadness and so visibly shaken to the core that I must leave for the day , start " Happy Hour " early , and drink myself into oblivion to forget such a horrific and disturbing ending to a beautiful story .

MAO !!!!!!!!!! SLAP ! MAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

" A ' B ' Ronnie .......He got a ' B ' "

The Jerky Boy !
06-06-03 04:10 PM
Sir Stonesalot I thought a B was the best she could do. Things would have looked suspicious if she had given me an A.

Dandy...what else am I supposed to call it? I said something that looks one way, but means something else. It's kind of hard to give words a droll expression without having the ability of altering inflection.

So what did you do with the guy who taught you surrealism? Shag mutilated donkeys whilst slicing eyeballs? "No No No. More rotting donkeys!"
06-06-03 06:07 PM
Dandelion* Nah, he told me something about every suit of armor secretly wanting a tool driving it.
06-06-03 06:11 PM
Sir Stonesalot I like my version better.
06-06-03 06:14 PM
~AzQb

Dande*!

Now all we need around here is a gooooooooooood strooooooooooooooooong dose of
HotThorazineStuff.

What to dooooooooooo?

~LOL
06-06-03 06:19 PM
Dandelion* Yeah. I hope she didn't come down with SARs or something.
06-06-03 06:19 PM
sirmoonie Dandelion, I'm glad you're back. Your insouciance has always been a mild attraction to me, as has the fact that you subconsciously agree with everything I say.
06-06-03 06:23 PM
Dandelion* I don't agree!
06-06-03 06:54 PM
~AzQb

And Dande*!
