From Collector circles news by Nico Zentgraf
05/22/05:
Tim Ries, horn player with the Rolling Stones tour band, just released his long awaited cover versions-project - an album full of Jagger/Richards-tracks with his saxophon being the lead instrument. As parts of this album were recorded while on tour with the Stones, Tim had the chance to secure him some help from the Stones themselves and other backing and supporting musicians: Charlie plays drums on four tracks, KR plays guitar on two and Woody on one. Click on the cover to the left to see all other musicians.
Woody even donated an old drawing of his (from 1968!) for the frontcover.
CD by Tim Ries "The Rolling Stones Project" (Village Recorders Inc. VRCL 12001, -Japan).

I heard those MP3 files, they are nice but the best projects from Rolling Stones' horn players are Bobby Keys S/T solo album and Jim Price's "Kids Nowadays Ain't Got No Shame" |
