Thanks! |

Go to Nico Zentgraf's website and go year by year searching by "Press Conference"
http://www.nzentgraf.de
A better option, buy his books

Since Brian left the band, the press conferences I can think of are :
Hyde Park 13 June 1969 - to introduce Mick Taylor and to promote the show in that venue a few weeks later
Beverly Wilshire hotel, Los Angeles late October 1969 for the US Tour
Mick's press conference at the Rainbow Room at new York's Rockefeller Center on 26/11/69 - as seen in "Gimme Shelter" ("d'ya mean sexually or philosophically", etc)
They did some in Scandinavia just before at the start of the 1970 European tour - I know of two, Malmo and Helsinki.
I dont think they did one in 1972 for that tour
There was one for the Australian tour in 1973 in Melbourne. One of the tactful local journalists asked Mick was he a "poofter".
The Copenhagen one (presumably on 7.10.73) has already been mentioned - I didnt even know about that one.
The 5th Avenue event on 1.5.05 was more a performance and a tour announcement than an actual press conference as such.
Mick did one for the '81 American tour at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia - just a month before the tour! None of this 4-5 months in advance shit back then !
Mick also did a P/C for the 1982 European tour at the Beat Route (?) club in london on 28.4.82
The US tour was announced with a press conference at Grand Central Station, NY on 11th July 1989. They also did one on arriving in Japan for their first ever shows there in February 1990. Mick announced the 1990 European tour with a press conference at the tabernacle in London on 22.3.90
The Voodoo Lounge tour was announced at one of the Piers (forget the number) in Manhattan on 3rd May 1994 after the band arrived on the Honey Fitz which I think was JFK's old yacht
The European tour of 1995 was announced with a press conference in Florida (I think it was Gainesville) in late November 1994 (the Stones were playing there at the time). There was also a press conference in Buenos Aires in February 1995, I think.
The 1997 BTB world tour press conference took place under the brooklyn Bridge in New York on August 1997. The band also did a press conference on arriving in Buenos Aires in March 1998. There was one in Munich for the start of the European tour in June 1998 - the Stones rehearsed there for a couple of days at the start of that leg of the tour.
They also did one in Moscow when they were there for their show on 11th August
Licks tour was announced with a press conference at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, NYC on 7th May 2002.
there may be others. Head's about to explode if I try and think of too many more!

Jesus said "I am The Way, The Truth and The Life"
Gazza said "I'm telling you The Truth. I need a Life" |
