as a charlotte resident - i would forever love someone if they could point me towards a recording of this show (brown sugar/bitch or not).

it was played in our old, old coliseum - where elvis played and professional wrestling was born.

i found pictures from the show - they're amazing.

jpenn11 I think the VGP titles have Bitch, but not BS -- Bring It Back Alive and Drippin Honey. Haven't heard them, but this is supposed to be an excellent show.

jb What's the quality?
May 13th, 2004 10:59 AM
headshrinker is it as good as the one with the 2 songs missing?

Phog I've got the VGP of this show, and think it's pretty fucking nice. It's an audience recording, but still a good recording for the time. Very listenable, IMO.

Phog Perhaps you should contact Scope to see if he's got any preferences on blanks.

TornAndFrayed All versions of the circulating Charlotte 72 source are missing Brown Sugar, the first half of Bitch and the beginning of Midnight Rambler. I also dont think these songs were taped, unless there is an alternate source.

The best release for this show is VGPs "Drippin Honey" which is MUCH better sounding than "Bring It Back Alive" (VGP used a lower gen source for Drippin Honey).

One of the best sounding 70s audience tapes I have ever heard. Excellent even by modern standards.

mac_daddy How are you, Tornandfrayed..? It has been a while...

I only have the "Bring It Back Alive" version, which I think holds up fairly nicely, one of the better sounding AUDs of the '72 tour...

I would love to hear "Drippin' Honey" - I am always ready for an upgrade...

actually "Bring It Back Alive" is available for download now (StG).

Zack I have a version with BS and Bitch, but the quality makes a giant leap afterwards, leading me to believe those two tracks were from a different, vastly inferior source and just added for the sake of completeness. In other words, no one is missing much.
