That was a real blessing in disguise - there is luckily very little left over to be harmed.
One broken finger on the left hand = there would be no banging through the Europe. |

Well, there must be a really dumb kind of rumor:
Should falling from a tree be something to be proud of? Just think what was going through momma Richards head when she heard about her only son! |

If I was EVER to fall from a tree you can bet your sweet ASS that I would break every single bone in me body .

" Is it true that the trees in Omaha come to life at night and try to escape?"
You shall NOT be greeted !!!!!!
By the way , we had to ' pass ' on Springsteen :
" Rock star Bruce Springsteen's tour won't stop in Omaha this spring because the Ringling Bros. and Barnam & Bailey Circus already was booked at the Qwest Center Omaha on June 10, the date that promoters of the Springsteen show offered the arena.
Instead, Springsteen will play at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on June 10.
This is only one of the blips in what will be an unusual summer concert season in Omaha. Because the arena will be closed for four months while workers add 1,472 seats to the arena's north side, the city probably won't be a destination for other big-name artists on the road.
Missing out
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A number of big acts will not be stopping in Omaha while on tour this summer, including:
Bruce Springsteen
Sheryl Crow (she will be playing in Council Bluffs)
Pearl Jam
Madonna
Tom Petty
Radiohead
Mariah Carey
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
The Dixie Chicks
The arena will close May 8 and is scheduled to reopen Sept. 8, although construction work will cease for 10 days in June for the circus and a Women of Faith conference. Those two events were contracted last year, before the expansion was planned.
"The seating expansion is something that's going to keep us competitive," said Roger Dixon, president of the Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority, which oversees the arena and convention center.
Springsteen is one of the few major touring acts to bypass the Omaha arena since it opened in 2003. U2, Coldplay and the Rolling Stones all played Omaha but not Des Moines in the past year. Paul McCartney played both arenas.
The Boss was either going to play Omaha or Des Moines, said Don Sullivan, talent buyer for Chicago-based JAM Productions, the concert's promoter.
"We didn't have the dates they wanted," Dixon said.
Sheryl Crow was scheduled to play Omaha on March 30, but she postponed her tour when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Arena officials tried to reschedule her concert between the conference and the circus, but the time frame didn't work with Crow's tour schedule, Dixon said.
Instead of Omaha, Crow will perform June 18 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs.
A number of other big acts will tour this summer, including Pearl Jam; Madonna; Tom Petty; Radiohead; Mariah Carey; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; Tim McGraw and Faith Hill; and the Dixie Chicks.
Had the arena closing not been scheduled, would Omaha have had a shot at landing some of those acts?
"Absolutely," said Gary Bongiovanni, editor in chief of the trade publication Pollstar, which covers the concert industry.
Even a megastar like Madonna?
In addition to larger markets such as Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York and Miami, her summer tour includes a few smaller, secondary markets, including Fresno, Calif., where Bongiovanni is based.
"She's playing Fresno. That really surprised me," he said.
The Omaha arena has to close during the installation of the new seats not only for safety reasons but also because it costs money each time crews suspend construction, officials said.
Those attending the circus and the women's conference won't notice anything different because construction will take place behind a curtain that is always up on the arena's north side, said Dana Dyksterhuis, a spokeswoman for the Omaha arena.
Dyksterhuis wouldn't speculate whether the arena would have reopened during construction for Springsteen if the circus had not already been scheduled.
Arena officials tossed around the idea of building an outdoor pavilion for summer concerts in one of the parking lots. Dixon said that project won't happen this year, but didn't rule out revisiting the idea in the future.
"With the seating expansion," he said, "it would be too much to undertake this year."
The arena needs to be reopened by River City Roundup. The arena will host three country music concerts Sept. 28 through Sept. 30 during the festival. Dixon said a fourth yet-to-be-announced concert could occur before River City Roundup.
And Bongiovanni said music fans shouldn't give up all hope of seeing their favorite artists because some acts - including Springsteen - could extend their tours into fall. The Boss last played in Nebraska in November 1984, at the Devaney Center in Lincoln.
Accompanied by his 17-member Seeger Sessions Band, Springsteen is touring behind his new album, "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions," which features his interpretations of 13 traditional songs popularized by folk singer Pete Seeger.
Springsteen's group played its first U.S. concert Sunday at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. After a 10-date tour of Europe, the U.S. tour kicks off May 27 in Boston.
In addition to Des Moines, other stops on the 18-date tour include Columbus, Ohio; Glendale, Ariz.; San Francisco; Milwaukee; Detroit; and St. Paul, Minn. Ticket prices and sale dates are expected to be announced this week.
A number of local Springsteen fans are planning to travel to Des Moines for the June 10 show.
"If he's anywhere nearby, you gotta go see him," said Matt Whipkey, 25, who has attended five Springsteen concerts since 2002. "He's the best live performer I've seen. It would have been cool to get him in Omaha."
