Happy Motherfucker!! I was just wondering what The Stones did for their press conference on the 72',78', and 81' tours. I don't recall it being as big a spectacle as the other tours. I may be wrong on this. If you know different, please post it.

Gazza There wasnt one in '72 or '78 as far as I'm aware. The '78 tour was in fact a bit of a surprise - and of course it was only about 25 shows and they only toured the USA

In 1981,Mick announced the tour with a press conference at Philadelphia's JFK Stadium,which was where the tour opened a few weeks later. 1975 of course was the flatbed truck performance on 5th Avenue,which caught the press unawares as they were already assembled in another place (a restaurant? cant remember) until they heard the commotion outside...

It was only from 1989 that it became the huge media event that it is now.


On June 16, 2001 the hit counter of the WET page was inserted here, it had 174,489 hits. Now the hit counter is for both the page and the board. The hit counter of the ITW board had 1,127,645 hits when it was closed and the Coolboard didn't have hit counter but was on line only two months and a half.
