Jeep GN'R 'Chinese Democracy' Is Finished

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/upcoming_releases/gnr_chinese_democracy_is_finished.html?200804110316

In time to coincide with the Bejing Olympics, "Chinese Democracy" is here. Axl Rose has finished work on the new Guns N' Roses CD and a finished version of Chinese Democracy has been delivered to Geffen Records.

The price tag for Chinese Democracy is $13million and took over 14 years to make.

To promote the release of the album, it is reported that Axl is also in negations to turn the making of "Chinese Democracy" into a reality T.V. show using home and label video from studio sessions and interviews.

With 14 years of footage, that is 122,721 hours and 31 minutes of potential footage to go over.

Thanks for the info to KROQ.com.

Dan The difference between releasing it now and ten years ago is in 2007 the top selling album moved just over 2 million copies. Even if this thing is a total smash hit, it will be just scraping double platinum.

FotiniD I'm a big fan of the original GNR.
Frankly, I'm very curious to see what Axl's been doing all these years with this record. But I'd much rather see him playing these songs with his real band as opposed to today's "GNR".

pretty much my view aswell - its only Guns N' Roses by name now, Axl's obsession with being the dominant force within G N R was why Slash and Duff left eventually, he had several contracts forced through so that he would have exclusive rights to the G N R name. Source, Slash's biography, great read.
