Hey, I've been lurkin' here for a long time and I really enjoy the board. I have a question for you guys and maybe you can help me out. Im looking for music (non-stones) that would be enjoyable to listen to while relaxing or perhaps indulging in a little chiba? I recently bought a CD by ethnic Indians. It is mainly sitar and I really enjoy it.
I'm looking for maybe ethnic/mood? music-I really dont know what to call it, anything not too fast that will get you into a groove and rrreellaaxx your mind. Thanks!!
Cheers MR

I don't want you to over-do it on sitar music but I highly recommend Stephan Miks. He creates smooth melodies informed by ancient & modern styles. Check out his website and samples at:

I have heard him perform in person and I have the Dakini Beach CD which I can set to Repeat and relax till what feels like forever. This should be just what you're looking for. |

anything by the Neville Brothers.
The Blind Boys of Alabama for some true AMerican blues/gospel
There is this one CD by Sly Dunbar and RObbie SHakespeare called Rhythem Killers--if you can find it--it is from the 80's--simply funkilicious. (and Bernard Fowler is on it---bu maybe I shouldn't have added that fact). |
