MidniteRambler Hey, I've been lurkin' here for a long time and I really enjoy the board. I have a question for you guys and maybe you can help me out. Im looking for music (non-stones) that would be enjoyable to listen to while relaxing or perhaps indulging in a little chiba? I recently bought a CD by ethnic Indians. It is mainly sitar and I really enjoy it.
I'm looking for maybe ethnic/mood? music-I really dont know what to call it, anything not too fast that will get you into a groove and rrreellaaxx your mind. Thanks!!

Cheers MR

Highwire Rob I don't want you to over-do it on sitar music but I highly recommend Stephan Miks. He creates smooth melodies informed by ancient & modern styles. Check out his website and samples at:

I have heard him perform in person and I have the Dakini Beach CD which I can set to Repeat and relax till what feels like forever. This should be just what you're looking for.

Thanks Rob.

Love that shit.

To me, just the first link it good, the other 2, not now.

Been loving the sounds of India too lately actually.

It's good shit.

luxury1 anything by the Neville Brothers.
The Blind Boys of Alabama for some true AMerican blues/gospel
There is this one CD by Sly Dunbar and RObbie SHakespeare called Rhythem Killers--if you can find it--it is from the 80's--simply funkilicious. (and Bernard Fowler is on it---bu maybe I shouldn't have added that fact).
