Topic: Ronnie's DVD Return to archive
03-07-03 10:57 AM
Saint Sway just scored a copy of Ronnies DVD "Far East Man"

its fluckin awesome! Great live footage, some backstage stuff too.

the acoustic versions of Ooh La La and Whadya Think are a real treat

and Am I Groovin You and Testify are killer funk! Slash just tears it up!

The faces Flying & the Byrds Rock & Roll Star are some of my favs

only dissapointments are that they only include a snippet of Miss You on the bonus footage. And Hey Negrita is a bit of a tease. Other than that, I'm lovin it

and wondering why the Stones arent releasing more material on DVD

voodoopug i must disagree.

I got the same disc yesterday too and was dissappointed. Ronnie is far too drunk to play most of the songs. Slash carried a lot of them (very well mind you).

I heard ronnie sing on "Slide on Live" and it had a cool raspy rock sound. On this disc, he slurs his words too much and forgets almost all of the lyrics. Many times other members of the band start singing when ronnie just quits.

Folks, watch this show and see how close to death ronnies drinking put him, then watch his playing on a licks video and look at the amazing differences.

Saint Sway no doubt you can see a huge improvement in Ronnie these days. And you are correct that he's juiced up and sloppy. And the other musicians carry him thruout

but that Woody

wouldnt expect anything else. I'm actually MORE SHOCKED seeing him sober and ACTUALLY PLAYING than I am seeing him out of it.

I still enjoyed it. And the music is great. No matter who little Woody contributes

woodywoodpecker I did a review on this awhile back, and I'm a woody nut but i bagged this concert! For 1 I hate slash who was way too loud and Ronnie didnt give a shit, to drunk.

If I was woody id be emabarred for this recording to reach the bootleg market let alone sold as official.

Just my opinion.

steel driving hammer Voodoo Pug, Slash only played 3 songs!

Plus, his guitar was turned up way too loud and Slash is a loud mouth loser anyway.

Fuck Slash who is 20 years younger than Ronnie!
