My dearest Stonesian brothers and sisters, I am thrilled to share my joy with you and announce with great pleasure that:
THE ATHENS GIG IS ON!
June 25th 2006
OMG! That's the way it must be!
An official confirmation was sent out to the press just a few minutes ago by the local promoter and the ticket prices were announced... They're going on sale on March 7th and they cost: 78 Euro, 84 Euro, 90 Euro, 95 Euro, 106 Euro and 280 Euro. They're going to announce the zone splitting soon.
I'm taking a guess that the 280 Euro ones are the ones On Stage (or are we going to get a different stage design for Europe)? If so, I really need your valuable advise - are the On Stage seats really worth the cash or should I prefer front of stage?
Doors open at 17.00, support comes out at 19.30 (TBA) and the Stones are expected sharp at 21.30. Just like 1998 all over again!
Life's good baby
I can't wait for June 25th |

But of course they are!
I wonder how many Greeks are going to be able to afford this for just one gig
I think those seats on stage are going to be filled up with stupid celebrities... |

"On stage" seats havent been put on sale for any European shows yet, so I guess these are category 1/VIP tickets (that seems very expensive by European standards - even more expsnsive than the top priced UK tickets which are £150 (Euro 220)
The rest of the ticket prices seem reasonable enough and in line with most other prices in continental Europe, but 280 Euro is nuts. They must be reserving them for Athina Onassis's relatives or something
The On-stage tickets in the US were $250 and $75 - which were considerably less than the most expensive ticket price which was normally around $454.
They were usually put on sale some considerable time after the on-sale date for the rest of the tickets

So, should I start blaming the local promoters for greed?

No. The Stones and Cohl. their high demands for a 'guarantee' mean higher prices - and they set the prices too. |

Good for you Fotini! Just go with 'regular' FOS, even if the Onstage ones go on sale. Nothing beats standing in the front section with the real fans, I mean, looking Mick and Keith in the face |

I dont remember the on stage seats actualy sold...in Charlottesville...they had a text msg promo...the response was either access to the area...(ticket exchange) or "sorry not a winner".
I thought they did that the entire tour...
To me...those seats were the same as sitting behind the stage...the band didn't "use them" or even acknowledge them.
You are pretty mush looking down on the band and you are the furthest from the B stage...You dont get to see the giant screens...the lights...the theatrics...I would much rather be in the audience...watching the show than be a useless prop. |
