Folks
In the last few days, some people have persistently tried to upload officially released DVDs (and in some cases audio rips of officially released DVDs) such as "Four Flicks" and "At the Max"
For some reason, theyve uploaded them but havent seeded them so before we removed the torrents, there were people trying to download even though there was no seeder. In some cases, the torrents were uploaded again a short time later.
We have our own ideas on what's going on here, one of which is that some smartarse is deliberately uploading offical material with the intent of getting this torrent site closed due to a possible threat of legal action from the Rolling Stones management.
Whoever is uploading these torrents is also failing to post an announcement of the torrent in the BT thread anyway, which in itself is a good enough reason for removing it.
It goes without saying that any material that's uploaded to the tracker which is an official release will be removed immediately once we become aware of it. Similarly, any upload that isnt 'announced' on the Bit Torrent thread on the message board will also be removed.
As a result of this problem with uploads of officially released material, we've been left with little alternative but the following:
Anyone deliberately uploading an officially available album or DVD (or audio rip of an official DVD) will not only have their torrent removed but will be banned permanently from using this site. Anyone involved in downloading from it will have their IP banned as well, because (until proven otherwise) we're seeing this as some collaborative effort between a few people.
We will not allow this tracker to be used illegally, nor are we going to risk legal action for allowing this site to be used for the piracy of officially released material.
Whilst we can have some leeway for people making honest mistakes such as uploading a bootleg CD which contains some officially released songs (in which case, such a torrent will simply be removed and a notice posted explaining why), we're not running the risk of having something we've taken some considerable time and effort in building up as a service to thousands of fans ruined for everyone because of a couple of malevolent idiots.
Thanks for your co-operation;

So no legal difference between uploading a commercial recording, a bootlegged show for free or selling any of those ? All illegal to RIAA eyes right ? |

buying, sharing or trading bootleg recordings isnt illegal
selling them for financial gain is, however. Its also forbidden to advertise the sale of such titles on this site because of that.
The RIAA isnt really an issue with this. Some artists wont allow "underground" recordings of their live shows to be distributed on torrent sites and sites such as dimeadozen have actually a list of such artists (Allman Brothers, The Beach Boys, Nirvana and Steely Dan are just four of them). The Rolling Stones are not on that list.
We do know that the sites get monitored by their legal people, however, so we're conscious to keep on the right side of the law as it stands at present regarding both the sale of bootlegs and distribution of officially released material. |

I totally agree with Gazza (and Voodoo, Jaxx, Macdaddy & Charlotte). What's the purpose of trying to shut down a site where NO official material is available here and the only official material here is added by SUSPECTED people which nobody knows them and, actually, they never show off.
Just get the f. out of this site.
Gr.
