"Launch Radio Networks reports: It hasn't been officially announced yet, but keyboardist Eddie Hawrysch (pronounced harsh) is no longer a member of the BLACK CROWES. Some long-standing issues had been coming to a head, and the sides parted company before the band played at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday (January 29)."

he shouldnt bother. Chuck had his brief chance w/the Crowes about 16 years ago. They moved on with Eddie who is a zillion times better than Leavell. And if they want to replace Eddie now theres tons keyboard players better than Chuck that they could find.
besides, Chuck doesnt want to kill trees. Faxing is bad. Mmmmkay? |

A zillion times better? By what standard? By the number of successful Black Crowes singles that Leavell vs Eddie has played on? |

I got a pretty good set. But even those that are less fortunate and havent been blessed with my superior hearing technology can easily tell that Leavell's twinkling is just annoying and crap. |

too bad if this is true, Ed's my favorite guy in the band, even above Marc.
I wouldn't doubt someone's jumping the gun reporting this though. they've got a good 6 weeks off til the next scheduled gig, I'm sure their gonna take some time to decide what their gonna do depending on if he's out for good or if he's got a habit to kick before he can go back on tour with them - or whatever the case is.
either way, something don't add up. people at the show the other night said the band sounded on and played enthusiastically - not something you'd expect to see if a longtime member just left in a huff right before the show
but if Ed really is out, I wouldn't bother trying to replace him. I'd rather see them as a five piece than try to get another keyboardist to fill his shoes |

give me a break - how many people who have heard Shake Your Money Maker and wasn't a fan even know Chuck played on it, or would notice if he wasn't there. by your logic you could say Hard to Handle was only a hit because the producer played the guitar solo instead of Jeff Cease |

Please...just stop.
Chuck's "twinkling" didn't hurt any songs on Shake Your Moneymaker, just like they haven't hurt any Stones albums starting with Undercover.
I am actually disgusted with myself for starting another thread that even mentions the Black Crowes. I just couldn't resist a chance to post some bad news for fans of these poseurs, namely Saint Sway. |

Actually, I think the O'Brien solo there was a pretty important ingredient in the scheme of things. |

This may be opening a pandora's box, but how can anyone who enjoys the Stones not like the Black Crowes? Of the young(est)generation of bands that came after the Stones, the Crowes are the closest in sound and swagger. "Jealous Again" and "Twice as Hard" are pure Stones imitation and flattery and may be just as good as some classic Stones tracks. It would be cool to have Jagger cover "Jealous Again," so we could see just how close the Crowes came with it.
The Black Crowes may not personally be one of my five favorite bands of all time, but they are pretty close. Everyone on this board NEEDS to give the Black Crowes some attention and time of day.

Chris Robinson's over-emoting, drag-one-word-out-into-a-thousand-syllables singing kills it for me every time. You'd think he were auditioning for American Idol.
Again, tired of talking about these never-weres. I don't know why I do it... |

I was lucky enough to see the Crowes show in Orlando on Sunday night...even without Ed they were A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!! Having Marc Ford rejoin last year was the equavelant of Mick Taylor rejoining the Stones...Sunday night was a guitar show...remember when the Stones used to play guitar shows...whats it been, 25 years ago now? I downloaded a killer 3CD recording of the show from etree.org...it'll be in my CD player in the car a lot longer than the boring Bigger Bang recordings I actually burned to discs... |

Isnt this guy about forty years older than the rest of the band? he has probably retired |
