Recently I traded with one of our Australian posters and he informed me, after I joked about it, that Australian customs had opened the parcel I sent him...Is this common and should I be concerned that I will be awakened in the middle of the night by boomerrang wielding jack boot thugs... |

Feej jackboots and boomerangs I like it!! blood on the wattle indeed
Re the customs intervention given that the addressee of your package was ambiguously identified by an acronym that an alert and zealous customs officer might have suspected stood for Stoned Independence Army or some similar covert subversive para-military organisation I guess they had no choice but to check it out
as i said to you in my PM what i find hard to believe is that they didnt have one of those x-ray machines they could have passed it through to verify the description you gave on the package i.e. compact disc that only leads me to think that they were not only interested in the contents of the parcel but also the contents of the disc perhaps they suspected it contained secret terrorist intelligence
despite the fact that the drum sound mickboy has managed to generate on his LIB re-master is nothing short of revolutionary and notwithstanding that the walls of jericho were brought down by the sound of trumpets its hard in this day and age to believe that a rock and roll record poses any threat to civilisation as we know it
having said that if the officer who listened to it wasnt familiar with the stones work he/she might have been a little alarmed at the lyrical content of the first track going on , as it does, about war, rape, murder, fire swept streets and disaster generally

I had one of my packages opened, so the guy in Austria tells me.
All this ID crap is a joke. For a start, different post offices are implementing it differently. One I go to makes me fill out the big customs form and ID while another only does when it is over 500g (which is the correct way).
It sucks all round. If they have opened two packages like that, they must be opening a hell of a lot. Go do something usefull.

Stoned, don't tell me you've never played LIB backwards,(which I must admit takes some doing with a CDR), but in Country Honk you can discern the following message; "and in the year of our Lord,2003- The Great Mongol King Bin Laden will rise to smite The West" Australian customs are just doing their bit for security, by the way did you get my email? |

HAha. Yes, "fine arab charger" is also a not-so-hidden message, recorded 23 years in advance.
I was thinking, if you were a budding stones fan working in customs, everytime you saw a package that you knew had discs in it, you could open it under the guise of security, covertly copy the contents and soon enough you'd have a damn fine boot collection. |

Well the snippet they played on the Sky News broadcast seemed to be the same as the version on The Black Album, so I'm assuming , yes! |

Hey gyp mofo, I forgot all about this but just remebered, I may start a new thread to let the other southerners know. On radio National at 6pm they are having some stones special. I read this at downunderstones, check it out (apparently there was inaccuracies in the promo!).
