ROCK STAR DIES AT 63
Daily Mirror
SAXOPHONIST Denis Payton of 60s group The Dave Clark Five has died of cancer at the age of 63.
Singer Dave Clark said yesterday: "He had an amazing talent. He played sax, guitars, harmonica and sang backing vocals on all the records."
The band was recently nominated for induction to the 2007 American Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.
They sold 100 million records and had 30 hits, including Glad All Over, before splitting in the 1970s.

Honky Tonk Man! You gotta get your ears examined, they were one of the best mod groups of the mid sixties. |
