Nasty Habits What a good day!

After 18 plus years of tight-wadded searching (passed up hundred dollar copies left and right, but who wants to spend a hundred dollars on a record!?) I finally got a monophonic vinyl LP of Satanic Majesties at the Goodwill today.

Weirdly, it was in a standard, non-3-D later 60s stereo jacket. Picked it up, thought, well, if this is in good shape, I can flip it over quickly, and slid out the vinyl to reveal a beautiful brown mono London deep groove label.

I try to keep my cool in the thrift stores and not geek out too much but I must admit to doing the Nasty dance right there in front of the moms and everybody.

Finally, my 60s mono/stereo collection is complete.

Wow, does 2000 Man sound good in mono.

Nasty Habits Not today. On occasion (yesterday, actually) I will see a Goodwill mom, a rocker gettin on in years (RGOIY) who will give me a moment of pause. But most of the time, poor obese mountain moms just don't do it for me.

Most of the time when I go to the Goodwill my fantasies revolve around shopping carts full of early 60s Blue Note LPs appearing magically from behind the mirrored, swinging doors, and not another record nerd around for miles.

Almost as good as the 2000 Man mono mix: The Lantern.

Nellcote Nasty, kidding aside.
One the 1st cd's I ever bought was a German pressing of Satanic, about 1985. One of the best cd's I own. On the London label. As well, the outtakes of these sessions, I think six cd's worth? Outstanding. I get the strangest looks from people, however, I dig anything Satanic....

Nasty Habits Those German London CDs are pretty legendary, Nellcote - especially in the face of the poorness of the original ABKCOs (ABKCO SUCKS!).

I remember the first time I ever heard the London German Let It Bleed and back-to-backed it with the US press and realized how badly American ears were getting ripped off.

Surprisingly NOT revelatory in MONO: Citadel, 2000 LYFH. Still great, but not miles ahead of the stereo mixes.
