To be fair we really will need to hear at least an 8/10 recording of this show to make a real assessment I think.. |

Who in their right mind fills up their hard drive with DVD footage of solo David Lee Roth?...And that was probably bluegrass Dave |

"Is it me or Jimmy Page sounds pretty bad on this show? I'm listening right now to Rock N' Roll and it's just a complete mess as far as guitar chords..."
Actually that is true, the familiar riff Of R&R is buried or not played like it could be, to me the solo ain't bad, could be better, but most songs with the exception of Ramble On, is o.k., really loved "Since I've been loving you" Page plays slide during "Trampled under foot" "Misty Mountain Hop" & "Kashmir" are really good, close to the recording, "the solo in "Stairway" could be a lot better, like it was already mentioned, but all in all I liked this recording, not bad for a recording that was taped from the audience.

I bet more people have that DVD than witnessed the show.
As for Zeppelin, some songs are better than others. I cringed hearing Robert Plant talk the lyrics of the first 2 songs. The Spice Girls was much better as far the big reunions go. |

not performance related, recording quality only. I've not listened to enough or do I like Zep that much to go grading the performance, and one this huge in terms of historical impact, I probably won't go there. I do know a decent audience recording when I hear it, and this one is def. an 8. |

The Spice Girls are not even fucking musicians!! they are a bunch of Industry made pop entertainers like that garbage Britteny Spears, I didn't listen to the Spice Girls & figure out the guitar parts when I was 16, Led Zep I certainly did, to even mention them in the same class as musicians is a insult to real musicians everywhere, every guitar player I ever knew loved Jimmy Page's guitar, period. |

I always thought Page's guitar work was overrated and has influenced my guitar playing ZERO. The day I grab a cello bow to play the guitar is the day I shoot myself in the face. |

Jimmy Page was a session musician before he joined The Yardbirds, then Dickwad, I'd love to hear one of the Spice Girls play "Since I've Been Loving You" Jimmy Page is right up there with Jeff Beck, & Eric Clapton, it all depends on how old you are, Dickwad, you probably weren't even born in '69. if you think the Spice Girls are entertainment, then your taste in music is up in your ass!! |

Page is a classic case of right place right time...Other than playing a guitar with a bow, he has done nothing innovative in my eyes and should not be praised. It is an insult to Mick Taylor, Ron Wood, Brian Jones, Blondie Chaplin, and Keith Richards anytime Page is placed amongst the living gods of guitar. |

Yep, right up there with people who made their best music in '69. I think the problem is you are confused about what year it is. I am talking about 2007, best entertainment value for the dollar in the here and now. Hearing Plant choke and cough through the whole show gave me a whole new appreciation for lip synching. If Zeppelin would guarantee using taped vocals from 35 years ago for their next tour I would actually be interested in attending.
As far as reunions go the better one is the group who could actually do the songs the way they were meant to be heard and put on a visually exciting all encompassing experience. |

Well, I am sorry Dan for the comment I've said against you, but we'll see how this whole Led Zep. thing will go, Eddie Van Halen was another guy who was knocked a lot, but I think, so far, he's proven he's doing o.k.
I'm just going by the guitar players I've listened to since I was 16, I'm 54 now, another was Alvin Lee, Johnny Winter, Keith Richards, & a lot I can't think of right now, but The Yardbirds had fantastic guitarist. |

To be honest, it's not a matter of idolizing The Stones, I'm a big fan of The Stones, it's just what musicians like, I think The Stones would like them to be remembered as a band that musicians respect, in the 60's they went through this screaming fans idolization, & this is what this remark reminds me of, Beatle/Stonemania, the Stones would like to be respected as musicians, I also like Hendrix, J.S. Bach, Mozart, David Bowie, etc, I was brought up to be a musician, not Idolizing one band or person, that to me is ridiculous. |
