There is no reason for it at all, other than to alert each other about PM's. Maybe if we started doing it now, we wouldn't start these threads, but its been this way for years now. Its just a tradition!  |

Bitch, the PM notification emails don't always work for some odd reason, so I guess that'd be one reason for it.

If it is a brand new PM, then the receiver will get a notification e-mail. However, if the chain continues, then you don't. In other words, if you reply to a PM and then they reply back, you won't get another notification unless they click on "new message".
The intrigue is a little joke. It is always fun getting a PM from Factory Girl though.
