I just read this on some news site. It's hard to believe that some of their classic albums aren't certified a little higher. I think that some of these numbers are grossly understated. How can you explain that Beggars Banquet is on par with Still Life? Something has to give there.
What Is The Stones biggest selling album? So what Stones album has sold the most? Sticky Fingers? Exile On Main Street? Some Girls? Tattoo You? Let It Bleed, maybe? No, no, no, no and no.
The biggest selling Rolling Stones album of all time is the Decca compilation 'Hot Rocks'. 'Hot Rocks' has just been certified 12 x platinum in the USA making it the biggest selling Stones album by far.
The Stones are now the 12th highest certified band in US music history and the 7th highest certified band.
The Rolling Stones all time best sellers are:
1. Hot Rocks (12x platinum)
2. Some Girls (6x platinum)
3. Tattoo You (4x platinum)
4. Sticky Fingers, Goats Head Soup, Forty Licks (3x platinum)
7. Big Hits, Emotional Rescue, Let It Bleed, Voodoo Lounge, Steel Wheels (2x platinum)
12. It's Only Rock and Roll, Aftermath, Beggars Banquet, Undercover, Through The Past Darkly, Stripped, Still Life, Singles Collection, Rock and Roll Circus, Out Of Our Heads, Made In The Shade, Get Yer Ya Ya's Out, Exile On Main Street, Black and Blue, Bridges To Babylon, Dirty Work (platinum)

Yes..it amazes me as well...You would think Exile. Sticky Fingers, Beggars and Let it Bleed would all surpass the 5 million mark. |

The Stones numbers will jump way up when they recertify their albums. Some have not been recertified for 20 years. |

Lets hope so..I don't mind being behind Barbara Streisand ..but to be behind Aerosmith, Elton, Billy, Madonna, Ac/Dc, the Eagles, is a little hard to take... |
