Topic: Stones American concerts Return to archive Page: 1 2

Jair Anyone knows which American states Stones played more times?
My guess is California, but its just a guess...

December 22nd, 2004 08:35 AM
Gazza California by some distance - they've played some 90 concerts there since 1964.

They've played 55 in the state of New York, with 32 in Illinois and 29 in Pennsylvania. Texas would probably be close to those last two, as well.

the NY figure would be 65 if you count NYC area shows such as those at the Meadowlands in '81 and the Giants Stadium shows in '94, '97 and '02 - however they're all just across the river in New Jersey

Gazza Additionally, at some point on their next tour, the Stones will probably play their 2,000th concert.

while its not easy to track some early shows, by my estimates they have to date played exactly 1,900 concerts (excluding TV shows, etc)

So it's possible that they may reach the 2,000th show in Europe in 2006.

Zeeta Gazza can you lend me 27 Million?
December 22nd, 2004 09:10 AM
Gazza yes - as long as you can tell me how the fuck to launder that amount in Northern Bank notes!

I can assure you, if I had anything to do with that heist, I'd completely finance a RO gathering and everyone's flights (first class) every week during the next tour.

VoodooChileInWOnderl An armed gang stole more than 20 million from Belfast's Northern Bank. Were you involved Gazza? Are we gonna have a big big Rocks Off gathering?

December 22nd, 2004 09:18 AM

gustavobala gazza, you can put statistics in europe too?

they played in alaska? lol but serious

have any american state who stones did not play?
December 22nd, 2004 12:53 PM
jb The Stones prefer the American audiences as we are not as cheap with the $$$ as the europeans..we support them so they can afford to bring their show over to Europe which would otherwise be a major loss...again, thanks to the yanks is in order.
December 22nd, 2004 12:55 PM
glencar I don't think they've played Vermont or South Dakota.

Europe :

they've played the following countries (listed as they were named at the time of the concerts, as international borders have changed since the early 1990's, in the former USSR, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia and Germany)

Austria, Belgium, Croatia,Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom (all 4 regions)

They have also played in the following countries which no longer exist : Czechoslovakia (1990), German Democratic Republic (1990), Federal Republic of Germany (up to 1990), Yugoslavia (1976)

In Asia, they've played in China, India, Japan and Singapore. They have also scheduled concerts in both Thailand (2003) and Hong Kong (in 1973, before it became part of China) but cancelled them.

In Africa, they have only played South Africa (1995).

Australasia - Australia and New Zealand

North America - USA, Canada and Mexico

South America - Brazil, Argentina and Chile. They were supposed to play Venezuela in 1975, but the South American part of the "Tour of the Americas" was cancelled.

Hope I haven't missed any out. I think Glencar has listed pretty much all of the states in the USA they've not played in. There might be one or two others.

Not sure which book it was in but Keith & Bobby were in Omaha, NEBRASKA and called all the escort services in the Yellow Pages claiming they were insurance salesmen

It might have been "Keith Richards, Life As A Rolling Stones"

Then again, it may not have been

The Rolling Stones played Omaha , NE in 1964 -- Remember , that is where a cop pulled a gun on Keef backstage( something about mixing rum with coke ) .

Warren Buffet and the rest of the city STILL feels bad about the incident and plan to make it up to the boys when they play here at our brand spanking new , Twenty Thousand seat , State-of-the-Art , QWEST CENTER ARENA next year .
