Topic: Cohl to Manage MACCA? Return to archive
December 21st, 2005 09:25 AM
Jumping Jack Paul is going with Cohl to rake in the big bucks? It is not bad enough that the Stones are second fiddle to Bono and U2 on Cohl's list of priorities, but behind Macca too? At least Paulie will be doing Saturday morning cartoons instead of soap operas.

Does Cohl have no shame at all?

Jumacfly Cohl should manage his own ass and sell platinum member to kick it!

Jumping Jack Oh the horror, oh the humiliation!!! I will never be able to wear my $45 official ABB T-shirts in public again!!!

gimmekeef Whats left to manage?..Macca is way over....

Jumping Jack So is Bono but look what Cohl is doing for him. He is licking his chops at getting his hands on the Beatles catalog! Imagine how many re-releases and rarities he can get out of that!!!

I sense hanukkah at the Cohl Household will not be pleasant...it is obvious that Michael wants to branch out and push Bono and Macca as world peace leaders, while Jake's main goal is to help us (true stones fans)

I LOVE MACCA !!!!!

" LONDON (Reuters) - Apple Records, the legendary label owned by The Beatles, has sued record company EMI Group, claiming that it is owed 30 million pounds ($53.1 million) in unpaid royalties.

Apple Records -- owned by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the successors of John Lennon and George Harrison -- said that an audit determined that EMI has not been fulfilling the terms of its contract. EMI owns the copyright to the Beatles recordings in perpetuity.

"Despite very clear provisions in our contract, EMI persist in ignoring their obligations and duty to account fairly and with transparency. Apple and The Beatles are, once again, left with no choice but to sue EMI," Apple Records said in a statement.

Apple Records and EMI fought a previous court battle over royalties, which was resolved out of court in 1989.

Lawsuits were filed on Thursday against EMI in London and against its Capitol Records subsidiary in New York.

"Artists do sometimes request an audit of their record label's accounts, that's not unusual, but sometimes there are differences of opinion, especially when the contracts are large and complex, when you can get issues of contractual interpretation," said an EMI spokeswoman. "Ninety-nine out of 100 audit problems are resolved by amicable settlements for ..."

voodoopug Sadly, Macca will be on the road forever and encouraged to only play "his hits" now that Michael Cohl is at the controls. We (the stones) will now find ourselves in third place within the next few years when it comes to tour gross (see U2 and Macca). We have been humiliated.

Hmm

this is beginning to echo what happened in the late '60's, when Klein was managing the affairs of both the Beatles and the Stones.

He devoted most of his energy to the Beatles and in turn handed over much of the day to day running of the Stones' business to his son-in-law Ronnie Schneider. He obviously saw the Stones as the least important (ie less financially lucrative) of the acts he was managing.

And we all know how brilliantly THAT managerial arrangement turned out!

Cohl is clearly intent on world domination if he's going to manage the affairs of the three biggest live acts in the world and must be stopped!

You, like us (jb and me) are very wise and can see this coming from a mile away....If anyone doesnt think that MC is planning life after stones now.....

Macca, due to the less physical demands of his show (and that he has surrounded himself with young, mtv style musicians) will be able to tour much longer and MC will keep U2 on the road until Bono is attacked by an angry Floridian lawyer. MC stands to become dominant. And with his company based in Canada, does this exclude him from the Anti-trust legislature?

Jake must do something and make his move now!

Gazza I recommend hari-kiri, personally!

Jumping Jack The Cohls have Mick watching game film from last year's Superbowl to see if they can measure up to that level of suckage. The bar is high, but Mick's upcoming duet with K. West at the Superbowl will keep the Stones in distant third behind Bono and Paulie for years to come. Cohl is an evil genius.

I understand the Stones are shopping for property in Bahrain to relax in the afterglow of the Superbowl.

The Stones tour will be the Top touring act of the history in a year time, all the legacy will be gone by the toilet but the numbers of this tour will surpass U2 or any tour.

glencar Are these Kanye West duet rumors based at all in reality? That guy is the stupidest rapper at the moment - low praise indeed!
