December 20th, 2005 08:00 AM
J.J.Flash Hey folks, since I'm a complete ignorant when it comes to Brian Jones era concerning bootlegs, I really need some helping hand on which are the most important bootlegs of this era, which are SBD recordings, best setlists and all this sort of info.

Any help here would be much appreciated by young Jay!

Cheers!

Honky Tonk Man Beat, Beat, Beat At The Beeb is an essential compilation of the majority of their BBC Radio sessions between 1963 and 1965.

As far as actual concerts go, the soundboards I know of have already been mentioned in this thread, but I'd defiantly check out the Paris '65 show and Melbourne '66.

There seems to be plenty of studio outtakes compilations out there and most of them tend to have similar content. The ones with the Chess sessions and early IBC demo's are the ones to look out for. As stewed & Keefed mentioned, check out Bright Lights, Big City. I think that has a bit of everything.

This particular show was broadcasted on the radio and is available as a bootleg. I haven’t heard it myself, but have heard that it’s fairly decent recording.

glencar I have one called "As Tears Go By" on the Oil Well label. It says it was recorded in NYC between 1964 & 1967. It might be TV appearances but I'm not sure.
