To honor Bobby Keys’ birthday here you have an MP3 file of one of the tracks from his 1975 singles. The track is “Honky Tonk” (nothing to do with Honky Tonk Women”
This is "HONKY TONK", download it and play it loud
http://rocksoff.org/h5-bobbykeys-honkytonk.mp3
To note this came three years after Bobby's solo album released in 1972, in this album Bobby has real great guests like Jack Bruce, George Harrison, Nicky Hopkins, Dave Mason, Leslie West, Feliz Pappalardi and Corky Laing

Oops I wrote "Feliz" instead of "Felix", maybe because "Feliz" means "Happy" |

I have his album on CD-r. Nothing even remotely like a Stones album ---> nonetheless, a real collectors item. |

Interesting. Some time ago, the tree for a Keys solo album on Shidoobee was abandoned for lack of interest. I did not recall this song being on the album. (The songs from the LP I know are: Steal from a King, Smokefoot, Bootleg, Altar Rock, Key West, Command Performance, Crispy Duck, Sand & Foam. Is this from a different album?)
This song is a funkified version of Honky Tonk, which I know as a guitar instrumental with a much slower tempo (more of a slow shuffle groove). Voodoo, do the liner notes indicate who wrote this?

Yeah, I ran it -- I think only 3 people signed up for it. |

This comes from a 1975 single not from the 1972 album, it was my mistake
Honky Tonk is credited to Bill Doggett, Clifford Scott, Butler & Shepherd

No way. Back in 2003, me, Angiegirl, Dutch Rik and some other friends, were at the George V hotel. We saw Bobby get in with a bag full of goodies. All kind of stuff, including A VERY LARGE BOTTLE OF MAYONAISE! |
