Difference? Sounds just like all the other asshole politicians to me.

Joey You want a comeback ?????? Why didn't you say so in the first place :

"I did very sexy dancing, I was extremely sexy and if I were a female in the audience I'd want to marry me"

Point well taken, he just did it to unknown proportions.

sirmoonie Joey, we got this little "scene" going here. I'm dancing around the outside, looking for an in.

Like Seger said "Sometimes at night, I see their faces, I feel the traces they've left on my soul....and those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul...."

BTW - Sway comes from Stray Cat Blues

No. He just got caught. IMO, that was the most shameful thing of all.

Factory Girl Hey SS, what did you think of "care pkg"? E or PM me.

Oh by the way Lott's comments were made about a than Democrat Seanator Thurmond.

I think you mean THEN-Democrat, and actually, he was a DIXIEcrat, which is a little different - like the difference between a Socialist and a National Socialist.

It is obvious from anyone who watched the film of Trent that he was just trying to think of something positive to say to the wizened mummy of Strom Thurmond (who makes Montgomery Burns look like a Backstreet Boy). HOWEVER, he thought of the WRONG thing to say. There were no two ways to take his comments. And watching him being torn to shreds by his own party would've been a real hoot if it wasn't for the WAR that Bush is gonna give us for Xmas, which sorta takes all the fun out of everything for bleeding heart liberals like me.
12-20-02 07:54 PM
Stonesthrow Saying the wrong thing extemporaneously is every bit as bad. It would be nice for our elected representatives to be able to think (politically) on their feet. As long as Lott has been in the Senate, he should know what he is saying and why. If can't do a better job than what he did, he doesn't deserve to be running the majority in the Senate. He's better off gone.

Oh. I see. Some witch hunts are justified, while others are not?

Horse-shit.

If the Clinton thing had just been about obstruction of justice, or abuse of power....then why delve into the President's personal life? IMO, that is the very definition of a political witch hunt.

I should point out that Trent Lott's political existence to me is completely trivial. It means nothing to me if he keeps his job or not. Quite frankly, I don't really care about Bill Clinton getting his cock sucked either.

It all sucks. It's about power, not "Of the people, by the people, and for the people". Fuck 'em all.

Nice thougt SSL. 14 Convictions in Whitewater case and 12 people fled the country over Whitewater
and have not come back. Why was Clinton disbarred?
12-20-02 10:55 PM
Sir Stonesalot Are you people hearing anything I'm saying?

The point of ALL my posts is that POLITICIANS ARE ALL LYING ASSHOLES.

Party affiliation has NOTHING to do with it. Rs & Ds talk out both sides of their mouths, line their pockets, and put the welfare of the party above the welfare of the public.

Go ahead, point fingers. For every Republican finger pointed, there are 4 Dem fingers pointing back....and eight Rep fingers pointing back at the Dems...etc. etc.

It's a useless excercise in futility.

I don't give a fuck about Whitewater, and I don't give a fuck about Trent Lott. All I'm saying is that witch hunting is not an exclusive thing...both parties are very adept at it. And that is one big reason that I'm a registered independent. I don't want my name associated with either fucking party.
12-20-02 10:58 PM
Fiji Joe "in appropriate remarks"? C'mon..Do any of you really think he was referring to Thurmond's segragationist policy when he made that statement...He would have to be a dman fool...he is obviously guilty of being uninformed...you mo fo's forget just how old Strom Thurmond is...Lott, I'm sure was referring to Thurmond's staunch conservative history...Of course, that's more than enough for the lib fascists to sink their teeth into...and for those who sold the man out...that kind of french waffling is a sad statement on American society...it transcends political affiliations...this kind of misplaced guilt and self-censorship will be the donwfall of this nation...besides, ain't heard nobody say he was wrong about his assessment of Thurmond...Et tu Brute?
12-20-02 11:05 PM
Boomhauer Nice pic of Penn, Fiji Joe. What an ass he is. To me he is just Jeff Spicoli.

"Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude, did you hear that..........that was my skull, uh huh huh!"
12-20-02 11:09 PM
Fiji Joe Yes Boomhauer...clearly his finest work...I sent O'Reilly an e-mail requesting Mr. Penn meet me in the ring for three rounds of no holds barred sparring...I'll even let him bring his fat little brother

I didn't.

Not sure I'd call Thurmond a conservative. Pioneer of the inconsistencies and line drawing bullshit we all accept as political debate now. In that respect, he's a genius.

Wouldn't call the Repubs booting Trent french waffling either. Thats called sweeping out the trash because it stunk. That retard's 15 minutes were up years ago, the only sad statement is that it took this long for Frist, Chafee et al., and even Dubyah to shitcan the fucker. And they did shitcan him, fucking A that was funny!

quote:
besides, ain't heard nobody say he was wrong about his assessment of Thurmond...

I hope you say it (but I like your posts even if you don't). Anyway, I heard Colin Powell say it. And that guy knows what he's talking about, and has proven it many times. He may be the only one up there who does.
12-20-02 11:30 PM
sirmoonie Oh yeah, and listening to the two of you diss Spicoli makes me fucking sick! Like an illness!

Do you two just happen to remember "Then me and Mick will wing on over to London and jam with the Stones!" perchance? Hmmmm?

Jesus christ, get some fucking perspective on life!
12-20-02 11:32 PM
Fiji Joe And what did Powell say?...I'm telling you, Lott may be everything they say about him...but he is not so shit all stupid as to state in public that he's a proponent of segragation...But, I will say, that as a product of desegragation, it, has little or no redeeming value...except, that on the three hours a day I spent on the bus, I must say I mastered the fine art of freeze-outs and dog piles...

Feej, I think you are talking about "integration" which I am a product of myself (I'd almost say victim of). Ugly fucking days my Stones brother, all forced upon us and a bunch of other kids by some benevolent liberal that didn't have to ride that 1 hour bus (in my case) or attend that "school." Fortunately for me, I could run fast and play ball pretty well, otherwise I'd have ended up in some situations that seriously rival war zones.

Segregation is something else though. You know what I'm talking about. It ain't cool, and is the only reason why misguided idiots felt the need to call for integration in the first place. Fuck, in the long run, integration may be for the best. Who knows? At least it taught me jive and an appreciation of Funkadelic....

Later!
12-21-02 12:13 AM
Fiji Joe No, I really don't know what Powell said...I've been working like a dog lately...and not "integration"...that ain't the name it had when I was bangin'...

I never learned jive, but to this day, I can moon walk better than Mr. Armstrong himself...

Oh the days I recall with great fondness...perhaps it was the fat lady who bore a strong resemblance to Mama Thomas from "What's Happening" (Hey, Hey, Hey) who sold us candy from her project apartment at a 300% mark-up...or perhaps it was the KKK rallys that were staged on the first Friday of every month...maybe it was the volleyball games that were orchestrated in the bolier room of our school...let me tell you, the games don't last very long with a six-foot ceiling...

Maybe that's why I can identify with the phrase "straight outta Compton"...

Peace out Stones brother...and for God's sake, don't kick the ball over the fence...cause you ain't getting it back!

Wrong. I submit that all will be pleased with Bill Friest.
He is a heart surgeon who was doing work in Africa (free) before it was hip, doing charity work out the WASOU.

He is a cool cookie, give him a chance

Lott was a mope and I am a right winger. Frist is the real deal. Results. Espically on healthcare.

I am glad Lott is gone

Yes..I am of the mind that the further we stray from our Euro-centric foundation the better off we are...I find it reassuring that as our society evolves, our pants are getting baggier and our standards for college admission are being completely abolished...this provides great promise for my offspring...wherever the hell they are...

There's just something very scary about tolerance and compassion that is born from affluence and misplaced guilt...

Man, if you don't know, you better axe somebody

You're changing the subject quite a bit and presuming a lot, as those of your political bent usually do, but I ain't disagreeing with your basic theme there, Fij G. Forced integration, and all its liberal spawns like Ebonics, affirmative action, etc. never did nuthing for nobodys, black or white.

Juss axe Dre! He check ya dopez!
12-21-02 02:13 AM
Fiji Joe Oh yeah the subject...Regardless of what yout think of Lott...and I do not think much of him either...to persecute a man for a remark that was obviously not intended to mean what it was construed to mean...or fuck, even if it did...is problematic...These guys and gals weren't riding his ass because they necessarily disagreed with him...purely a matter of opportunism...I find the whole thing disgusting...and no, this cannot in the least be compared with the Clinton situation...the man waved his fingered and lied to me well after the point where he had the ability to fess' up and all the relevant facts were known...I don't find that admirable in a president
12-21-02 02:08 PM
Sir Stonesalot Are you shitting me?

Presidents have to be the BEST liars.

I don't want my President sitting across the table from some deranged Iraqui dude...telling THE TRUTH!

Bill Clinton was a bad liar. That's why he wasn't a very good President.

Gee, I don't sound jaded or anything, do I?
12-21-02 02:58 PM
nankerphelge I read what Lott said. I thought it sounded pretty bad. But whether he honestly meant something by it, doesn't matter -- he took the big hit now because he had nothing to support him. His apologies had little credibility in view of his record, and both parties knew it was time to go.

He bought his tickets; he knew what he was getting in to.
I say, let 'em crash!

And while I agree that an effective President has to know how to lie when facing an adversary, it is because I accept that as part of his duty to his country. But when it crosses to lying in self interest at the country's interests' expense, he is still accountable to his country. As a citizen, I don't think it is all futile. I've served the Federal government in both the Executive and Judicial branches. And I worked with the Legislative branch. With the political stakes at play at higher levels, and the press and public scrutiny of public officials, the federal government has gotten more accountable. I'm jaded by some of it -- don't get me wrong. But I give the system some credit.
12-21-02 04:58 PM
Sir Stonesalot >But I give the system some credit.<

I don't. The system makes good people go bad. You say Frist is a good guy? I don't doubt that....but just wait, he'll end up just like all the rest of them.

You have to play the game, or you get eaten alive.
12-21-02 05:18 PM
Joey " I think you mean THEN-Democrat, and actually, he was a DIXIEcrat, which is a little different - like the difference between a Socialist and a National Socialist. "

<------ Indeed my C10 Brother ......the South was Democratic until LBJ passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 . LBJ lost the South that day and he knew it .

Good point little buddy . I only wish every individual would receive Robert Caro's " Master of the Senate " for Christmas so they could read and see for themselves what a REAL Senate Majority leader was like .

The Iraqi people are not going to throw down their lives for Saddam like the North Vietnamese did for Uncle Ho ( North Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh who defeated the Chinese , Japanese , French and the Americans and who now has a city named after him ) . Plus , the war will not start until early Feb . -- these thing are so damn pre-planned anymore . The only " wildcard " here is the nation of Israel . Saddam will throw everything he has at them , and if they do not show restraint , the entire region could be thrown into a vast conflagration . Luckily , your young Joeykins is too old for the draft ( I'm 38 ) , so what the fuck do I care ????????????? Ain't gonna stop Nanky and me from seeing the Stones in Denver February 1st .

" George Bush wouldn't DARE start a War while the Stones are touring North America Ronnie "

LBJ didn't pass it he signed it. He signed it because Republicans passed it. More Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 then Democrats by a huge percentage. Remember when Al Gore Sr voted NO on that one?
