Not content with being in not one, not two, but three of the greatest rock bands this or any other world has ever known (that’s the Jeff Beck Group, The Faces and The Rolling Stones for all you newcomers out there), Ronnie Wood took time out in 1974 to record his own solo album, wickedly titled ‘I’ve Got My Own Album To Do’, then subsequently took to the stage with some famous friends in Kilburn to showcase it.
That night, the Kilburn State in north west London played host to Ronnie, Keith Richards, Small Faces/Faces keyboardist Ian McLagan, bass supremo Willie Weeks and hot session drummer Andy Newmark, not to mention a guest appearance from old drinking buddy and Faces vocalist Rod Stewart.
Now digitally re-mastered and set for release with new exclusive tracks and an eight-page booklet with hand-written liner notes by Wood with previously unseen photos, the two-disc special will return the spotlight to Ronnie’s own genius, and will no doubt keep him busy in the interim between Stones tours!
At the swanky West end private premier Clash caught up with Ronnie and put YOUR questions to him...
