On first listen, its not bad - some nice slide playing and the sound is very good....although a few more good SONGS wouldnt go amiss.
Looking forward to seeing him in Dublin a week on saturday! |

I saw that one Brit journalist from the Sun had a "Mick Aid" logo -- looked like the outline of Africa as a guitar with Mick's mug in it! Says he did it to help poor Mick's album sales.
I don't have much sympathy myself for all of the reasons I have listed before. It's the Stones I love, not any one member (except Chaz, who is the man) |

RONNIE WOOD
Not for Beginners
SPV 085 72762CD
SOLO ALBUMS by famous sidemen should be approached warily, as should albums that come liberally sprinkled with guest stars. So, a new solo album by the Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, featuring guest appearances by Bob Dylan, Stereophonics Kelly Jones and Elvis Presleys original backing band, should turn out to be a self-indulgent disaster. Self-indulgent it certainly is. Give a bloodhound a sniff of a concise, well-constructed pop song, then send him scurrying among Not for Beginners 13 tracks, and hell return with his tail between his legs. Woods songs wander and ramble, but hidden among the meandering blues jams are some gems. Amazingly, theyre the tracks with the guest stars: What Do You Think, a classic Faces-style ballad with Jones filling in for Rod Stewart; Are You Behaving, a soulful number with a former Faces colleague, Ian MacLagan; and Interfere, an undulating instrumental featuring Dylan, Scotty Moore and DJ Fontana. One star
