they played "Tops" at a few shows early on in the 1981 tour, as far as I can recall

I think 'Casino Boogie' got to the rehearsal stage for 'Steel wheels' (if my memory is right, you can see it in a list of songs being rehearsed in the 'Mixed emotions' video) but never made the cut

Yes, Tops was played at the first concert in Philly. I LOVED it but not many otehrs in the crowd responded.

You bet that's my 10/27 pin! It was my little (very little tiny) protest about the AC cancellation. I wore it all night at the Beacon. BTW, nobody cared.

pdog SV is very good looking... I remeber leaning up to this guy at the bar, and I said she is one hot tamale....
He said yeah, my wife is very hot!

Seriously, Mr. Virginia is a very nice and lucky guy!
Great people, hopefully we will enjoy more cancelled shows together in the future!

Bitch Missing this concert gave me the blues so bad I couldnt read the boards for 3 days, thats how painful it was for me. After being picked to be an extra in the movie, they emailed me to say I wasnt needed after all. When the RS changed the date from Oct 31 to Nov 1st, the extras were overbooked and they were using professional actors. So I went to the Beacon anyway, since I already took the day off work, to see if there were any legit tickets for sale. There was 1 for $700 and 1 for $500, but I didnt have that kind of cash, regretfully. I've paid $450+ for alot of shows on ABB, but I'm not making the money it requires to be a fan anymore. How depressing is that? Couldn't get in, and I rode the bus back to Jersey with tears rolling down my face, feeling sorry for myself. Thats what my band did to me, they brought me way down low. Pathetic, isnt it? I can barely stand to read the setlist and looking at the pics is like torture. But I'm happy for the people who got in.

Aw, Bitch, I know what a heartbreaker it was, especially since you were already slated as an extra for the Halloween show. I could tell how badly you wanted to get in the other night. Ya just gotta put it behind you though, and be grateful for the show you DID get to see! Besides, we still have AC on the 17th (provided that it actually comes off). You've lived to rock another day, girl.

LOL! I thought so! I still have mine too, as well as a few extras I got the day after. I'm not sure anyone would want 'em though...
Good for you for sportin' it to The Beacon. Represent!
4th November 2006 10:20 AM
SweetVirginia Oh Bitch...that made me cry. You are such an awesome girl AND amazing fan. I wish things had worked out. It takes a lot to break your spirit. I could tell that in AC when you partied on after the bad news. Keep the faith for AC 2.

I'm still a "maybe" for that show. Would love to see all you guys.

jostorm Bitch: what they did to you is absolutely inexcusable !!! I am so sorry, my heart goes out to you...
Have you considered writing to them and telling them what happened to you, and that to treat a fan like this is just lower than the lowest, even if the Scorcese thing has its own agenda and rules to operate, it is preposterous to treat any fan in this way!!!And you're not pathetic AT ALL, you have every right to be blue about it. If I was you, I would specifically write the letter for the attention of Shelley Lazarre at the Rolling Stones head office, she is the extremely nice lady in charge of the ticketing for VIPs, if you wrote her a letter explaining all that happened to you and how you feel about it,then I would be very surprised if she didn't at least try and do something to make it up to you, perhaps at the AC show........

4th November 2006 01:16 PM
Bitch Thanks for the moral support, I'm over it now and the main reason for all the changes was because of MICK's throat problems. BITCH, love it's a Bitch, alright, whether love for a man or for a band! Bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch, I'm getting my bitches out!

Gazza some more photos from Wednesday night, thanks to Paulywaul and Beast, who, after flying over from England to have the disappointment of having AC postponed (and missing out on the backstage access) managed somehow to get tickets for this one..

At the start it WAS pretty legit. Its not they claimed they hadnt rehearsed all these songs or anything, but they would be informed what the 'choice' was maybe an hour or so before showtime

With the one youre referring to, they had obviously decided on WOAF for the PPV show in St louis as they had already invited Josh Redman along. If I remember right, the song that led by miles in the vote for that show was Starfucker, due to an internet campaign by mischievous fans to get them to swear repeatedly on live TV.

By the time they got to 1998, some nights the webvote was ignored altogether and other nights they doctored it to suit themselves. There WAS considerable abuse of the system though, with some fans maybe voting a couple of hundred times for their favourite song, which didnt exactly make things easier.

this was done once that i am aware of thru the undercover list

glencar Who is paulywaul? Is that someone who posts here? Is it the older gent holding up the palm trees? It's not that woman with all the cops, is it?
4th November 2006 05:04 PM
Gazza Friend of mine (and a few others from here) who posts on IORR. Hes the dude with the palm trees. Cindy C and Pauly's wife are the two women with NY's finest.

Unfortunately, my attempts to find the owner of the delightful arse being honoured by Bernard Fowler have, as yet, proved fruitless...

GotToRollMe It was great to see Paulywaul and company at the show the other night, especially considering they'd come over from Europe for the AC show.
I see you finally got your tree blown up, Pauly! Nice pics!

Factory Girl was indeed played on the BTB tour - I think they did it at Giants Stadium in 1997. I think it was one of the webcast selections

Factory Guys is the bootleg for this show, GS and SM were excellent. FG and NNB were very good also. Excellent quality recording.

luxury1 One of the thrills of the evening for me was running into Victoria Perlman (sp?) in the lobby, introducing myself and telling her I am looking forward to future intelligent productions from Jagged Films. She kissed me on both cheeks, and was gone.

Gazza Keith has been quoted as thinking they were funny.

Ronnie grabbed him and was pointing to some of them from the stage in Berlin and they were both laughing their bollocks off.
