the entire page is being updated

(In CYHMK's case - corrected, as it was played live in 1971)

speedfreakjive So i presume CYHMK was played at one of the gigs you don't have the setlists for in 1971?

Gazza yes..a couple of the early ones. Newcastle and probably Glasgow

speedfreakjive I've just gotta say how impressive the setlist page is. It must have taken a lot of time & work to complete. Its really quite interesting to see whats been played, and where etc.

It says there's a DVD/video for the Marquee 1971 show. Is it any good and do you know if I can get hold of it somewhere?
December 14th, 2005 11:21 AM
Gazza yep..mail me and I can help you out with it

and yeah, it took ages to compile it first time round in 1999 (about 6-8 weeks I think). Thanks

it is very complete...i refer to it often. Is there any recording that exists from the 1971 shows featuring CYHMK? I truly wonder how it sounded live then.
December 14th, 2005 11:42 AM
Gazza No..there arent unfortunately

If it says "no tape extant" under any entry on the setlists page (as is the case for most 1971 shows) then theres no known recording

It was believed for many years that CYHMK was never played, but a couple of magazine articles exist from around the time plus three separate interviews/articles with Bill, Keith and Bobby Keys who all state that they played it a couple of times at the beginning of the tour. Good enough for me.

Apparently, it was a bit of a messand they dropped it because it just didnt work live.

I remember reading that BIll mentioned it and was completely shocked that not one recording of it had ever surfaced...perhaps one day!

glencar Someone on shidobeeeeeeeeeeee has a link to a website that has a video of "I Got The Blues" from 1971. Not sure if it's a rehearsal or the actual Marquee Club.
December 14th, 2005 05:29 PM
Gazza yeah its from the Marquee TV special

It was the only ever live version of it played until it's "concert debut" at the 2nd Hartford show in 1999 (I was there!)

speedfreakjive no, not that bit!
just this bit
"Oh help me, please doctor, I'm damaged
There's a pain where there once was a heart
It's sleepin, it's a beatin'
Can't ya please tear it out, and preserve it
Right there in that jar? "
