Mr. D Has anyone seen this trailer, starring Stone's fan Depp.

It looks interesting to say the least....very creepy, acid-like stuff I would say. The glasses everyone is wearing in the white room kind of remind me of "Jumpin' Jack Flash" video.

caro Arrh, once again I'm dying with anticipation for this film. The two last Tim Burton flicks were so disappointing, IMO. We had this theory about "Big Fish", that it was Burton's "maturity" work -- meaning he had found a serene way of looking at life, and could finally make "happy" films, having probably grown happier and wiser himself. That's all very good (if our theory is true, then I'm happy for him), but it means that the times when he made those great twisted movies are gone.
I'm not too sure about this "Chocolate factory" idea. Compared to other Roald Dahl books, I don't like this one at all. It's filled with funny details & ideas, but that's about it. I would've preferred a more consistent story with some space for Burton to add his own ideas. IMO, all he can add to this story is a nice visual wrapping.
But we'll see...

" Pure Imagination "
( Words and Music by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley )

" Come with me and you'll be in a world of pure imagination.
Take a look and you'll see into your imagination.
We'll begin with a spin, traveling in this world of my creation.
What we find will defy explanation.

If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it.
Anything you want to, do it.
Wanna change the world? There's nothing to it.

There is no place to go to compare with pure imagination,
Living there, you'll be free if you truly wish to be.

You will find in your mind there's a world of pure imagination.
No more fun place to be than in your imagination.
You can dream any dream; you can savor every situation.
Life in there's a sensational sensation.

If you want to see magic lands, simply close your eyes and see one.
Wanna be a dreamer? Be one.
Any dream you please, but please save me one.

There is no place I know to compare with pure imagination,
So go there and be free if you truly wish to be. "

Monkey Woman Stones trivia: the model Sophie Dahl, former girlfriend of Mick, happens to be the granddaughter of Roald Dahl, the author of the book adapted in that movie.
