Topic: Recording equipment? (SSC) Return to archive

FotiniD Hi guys,

The Stones are not on the road, time for some practice with other bands I didn't know where else to ask, so can you suggest the best recording equipment for gigs - from the crowd? (wow, this sounds illegal, but ok ) What's the best minidisk and the best microphones for recording the show?

Thanks

mac_daddy use DAT. minidisc is not lossless...

Core-Sound makes some good mics. I use a pair of DPA 4060 mics. I get them matched from Len @ Core-Sound; he calls the set the high end binaurals...

you also might want to find a A>D/preamp - I use the Sony SBM-1

I hope this helps.

FotiniD Thanks! I'll search for those.

scratched macdaddy, are you the guy that remasters the Stones boots? If so, I am interested in what software/hardware you use to do this. I have been using T-Racks and WaveLab to master my own music and was wondering what you like to use (especially for noise reduction).
