The monks have trained the cats to jump through hoops and through their arms. The cats are happy to perform this acrobatic feat, as their trainer rewards them with a treats. The two or three dozen cats, are all named after famous celebrities like Madonna and Mick Jagger. Their trainer, U Nan Dee, remembered my mother. He will be delighted to show you how fame has come to this small monastery since the Houston Chronicle did a piece on the cats a few years ago."
