Topic: Gimme Shelter Movie Return to archive
11-29-01 10:46 AM
Mathijs As part of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, me and 8 other Stone-aholics went to see the movie Gimme Shelter in a big theatre and man, its unbelievable to see the Stones live in 1969 on a 10 by 10 meter screen, with the music at full throttle blasting in your face. I know this movie by heart, but I was amazed on how many details I have missed over the years a thong (in 1969?) thrown on stage, Jaggers Arabian shoes during Honky Tonk Women, Keiths incredible out-of-tune riffing with this monstrous tone on Satisfaction -just unbelievable! I understand the remastered Gimme Shelter DVD will be released in Europe soon and the film will play in many theatres in Europe: make sure youll see it!!

For the people whom are interested: I have added some more Mick Taylor in the Netherlands pictures on my web site.
