whoever dreamed up an itinerary like that for an 80 year old man needs their arse kicked and a quick lesson in geography

MidnightRambler Yikes.

World tour? Can he handle that? Performance wise, I mean. From the last review I heard of his show from the last couple months...he has deteriorated immensely and is victim to heckling from the crowd...

sammy davis jr. Believe me, it's pretty ugly. Save your money unless you just want to say you've seen him.

F505 Chuck Berry once great now old bore only interested in money grabbing.
10th December 2006 06:18 PM
GotToRollMe That is one of the oddest tour schedules I've ever seen. This can't be right.

stonedinaustralia unfortunatelty that's no World Tour because if it came here i'd certainly consider going - tour of the Northern Hemisphere would be a better description

MidnightRambler Great video...the best I've seen him perform. Better than "Hail Hail" which was around 15 years later.

I gotta get the DVD of this London gig!

I saw him in late 2003 and while he was generally entertaining and at times pretty good on the guitar, there were many times he forgot the lyrics and a couple of times he drifted into a different song while in the middle of another one. During "Sweet Little Sixteen" and "Johnny B. Goode" he kept dropping parts on one song into the other, and not on purpose. It was as if he kept forgetting what song they were playing.

The audience was quite embarrassed for him, but also really supportive. Lots of applause and a standing ovation at the end, I guess mostly to give him the respect he deserves for all he has meant to rock and roll.

Paranoid_Android Will he be issued all the appropriate work visas? I think half of these countries have laws agianst folks who video tape women urinating w/o their consent, no?

I still like Chuck. He endured a lot of racism both black and white as he broke racial taboos over the years.
