Im going to Vegas on the 30th of December for a short break over new years.
Apart from the obvious. Have you guys got any ideas about where to go for a good time? Nothing too seedy though please. I have female company with me.

Palomino's & the Crazy Horse 2 have some great strippers. The Cirque Du Soliel shows are fine. There are 4 or 5 at different casinos. It sounds like Prince is in residence at the Rio. It will most likely be somewhat chilly when you're there. There are some beautiful national parks within 3 or 4 hours drive. I'd recommend Zion Canyon or Death Valley. Vegas is expensive & the people who work there expect mucho tips. Have a great time! |

Go to Batista's, notorious Italian eatery behind the Flamingo across from Bally's, just off the Strip on Flamingo Road. The interior bar is filled with cases of tiny bottles and tchotchkes. They use an old guy as a roving accordian player. It's been there at least since 1970 and is a throwback in the vein of the Golden Era of Vegas. Used to be a star hang out with all their pics on the wall. Good food but not great - this is more about the experience of gawdy Amercian-Italian in a Vegas restaraunt than excellent food - if you don't get that you may want to skip it. It will be torn down soon as one of the Casino's bought the property.

I did not know Batista's was still around.
I went there in 1980, met Batista, who is from the Lake Region of Italy, great guy! Sad to see it's going.
Had the grilled calamari, Bellissimo!!
Ciao~Batista! |
