Tex Gabriel starred as " Randy " -- the scorned bastard child of Jock Ewing --- during the legendary " Dallas " Television Series' very first ' mini season ' ( '77 - '78 season ) . His character was ' killed off ' after Tex refused to procure booze for Hagman in the wee wee hours after the day's shooting had ended .
