glencar Yes, it will be the last time.
December 4th, 2005 10:41 AM
deuce This will be the last of the big "Rolling Stones are touring the United States and then next summer they are going to Europe" tours. However, I see at least one more studio album in the future. I don't know why, I just do. I also see the band continuing to play live, just scaled down with less dates, smaller stages and fewer songs.

mrhipfl I agree with Deuce. I bet prices will drop too.

Honky Tonk Man I really am at a loss with this one.

While I can't see this been the last tour, I really can't imagine the boys giving us a new studio release either.

It's a tough one, as if they were to tour again, what would it be behind?

In reality, I don't think the Stones need an excuse to tour, after all, they can do what they like and as long as people are prepared to pay these ridiculous prices, I reckon another tour of some kind is a certainty.

As I stated above, it's just the question of what they’d tour behind. They would have to dream something pretty good up. There is no market for their live albums and like I said, I doubt we'll get another studio album.

FotiniD I can't put my finger on it, but I can answer one question for sure.

Is this going to be the LAST time we discuss, overanalyze and drain this issue until it falls to pieces?
DEFINITELY not

Gazza As they have got older, I have always got more convinced that the Stones will not cease to exist as a band until one of them dies or is so incapacitated that playing and touring is no longer a possibility (personally, I think that if such an event happened they SHOULD stop)

Every member of the band in the last couple of years has had a health problem (either new or ongoing) which could have made that a very realistic possibility or could do so in the future if it happened again, ie : Mick's throat problems, Keith's ongoing problems with arthritis and an alcoholic lifestyle which will catch up with him sooner rather than later, Charlie's throat cancer and Ronnie's alcoholism - which he's still battling with plus the diagnosis that he'll have a serious and potentially life-threatening problem with emphysema should he start smoking again (he seems to have had more problem kicking THAT habit than booze).

Considering all that, they've done remarkably well to all still be capable of doing what they're doing in 2005. Especially considering what Charlie and Ronnie have gone through since the last tour.

However, on the law of averages and when you consider that their average age is almost 62, their collective health isnt going to hold up forever.

To answer the question - yes and yes.

LadyJane Last studio album? Definitely.

Last Tour? I dunno......of this magnitude...YES...but I wouldn't rule out something smaller scale.

Nellcote Yawn, major yawn.

It's the Stones, dammit.

CHIEFMOON Last album?

NO WAY.

Last tour?

VOODOO LOUNGE, BRIDGES, NO SECURITY, LICKS, ABB...

AT LEAST ONE TO GO...
December 6th, 2005 04:40 AM
marko In a way i hope so.I don´t want another ABB.to me it
doesn´t sound like it was a band who made the album.
Besides,it it not going to get cheaper in the future, less
shows, more expensive tix.But i think this is it.
December 6th, 2005 09:01 AM
Jumping Jack The law of averages applies to mere mortals, not the Stones!!!
