jb The Beatle..John Lennon... a real farce considering the name was ripped off from the greatest group ever.
P.S.-please don't post any further Beatle related stories here....Welcome aboard ...

Nellcote Atta Boy JB, Love that South Florida charm...

Sure you won't join us at Sully's prior to Fleet 1/12/03?
It's a pissa Irish bar, much like St. Mark's from Waiting on a Friend. Why not make a week out of your NY shows,
by coming here first?

WTF?
12-04-02 11:34 AM
nankerphelge Sully's? That sounds vaguely familiar.
12-04-02 11:34 AM
jb Are you going to the Pats/Phins year end game? I think it will decide the division.

Nellcote C'mon Nanky, it can't be that dusty. I escorted your wife & yourself back to Sully's afta the show. Y'all coming north for 1/12?

JB, no, not going to the "Blade".
Having a tailgate gig at my house. Start early, fire up the boiler outside for some tortellini stew, Watch my man Deion at 12p, then serious butt kicking of those Phins
from 1-4pm. Beat the Phins last night on NFL Blitz 2003 for PS2. Got the bye week, now into the playoffs. This is how it will go. Bring on the snow, I know the Phins love it! Ready for Lucas, Arthur Fiedler, or whateva his name is, bring 'em on.

Any sports event in this area is far better than the daily dose of Cardinal Outlaw and the shameful bunch of pillaging priests in the Boston Archdiosis!

jb The bastards are going to file chapter 11!..but everyone hates lawyers until they need us...
12-04-02 11:52 AM
Nellcote I knew they would file after the summa, so Cardinal Outlaw could sip his little umbrella drinky poos on Ole' Cape Cod at the palatial estate on Hyannis sound one more time before the noose tightened. What a shameful crowd
12-04-02 11:58 AM
nankerphelge Of course I remember -- what do you think I was piss drunk or somethin'?

Not sure about 1/12 -- as much as I'd love to head "back up to Boston," work may interfere...

Pardon our resident Beatle Hater, JB. The first issue of Rolling Stone didn't have a cover per se, like subsequent issues. It looked like a newspaper, mostly print, and the photo was indeed THE Beatle, John Lennon, in an army helmet - a still from his 1966 role in Richard Lester's film "How I Won The War".

I've never seen the first issue but I had a subscription in 1969. It was a LOT more radical than the rag it's become today. Articles were generally about music or dope or both, and unlike its current incarnation would NEVER run yearly cover articles about Jennifer Anniston. Like almost everything from the idealistic sixties, it dissolved when immersed in money. Other "underground" rags such as Crawdaddy stuck to their guns and disappeared, but Rolling Stone decided it was all about the Benjamins and became the clueless waste of ink it is today.

Last time I checked, Raylnn, jb wasn't the moderator, so you can feel free to talk whatever you want as long as it's dimly related to The Stones. Hell, you can even talk about things not related to the Stones at all! Lord knows jb does, all the time... of course, you weren't even talking about The Beatles, you had an honest question that had nothing to do with them. I think jb was just bitten by one as a child or something.

Yeah, Rolling Stone talked about Lennon in regard to "How I Won The War" that issue, and it wasn't in its finalized format, like what you see on the stands today.

-tSYX --- But I just had to look, having read the book....

sirmoonie I think Judiasim should bail the Caths out and set them up as a Vatican-based subsidiary. It would prevent a hostile take-over by the Mormon Church.

Either way, as long as Islam doesn't get majority of shares. Never liked Islam, Inc. - fucked up corporate structure, poorly manufactured product, express warranties are all bogus, hostile work environment, etc. Employee manual is a load of crap too.

Ecclesiastical Law. Thats where the big bucks and real wheeling and dealing go down.

jb Yeah Moonie, we'll get Edgar Brofman Jr. to initiate the hostile takeover..
