CS TOP STARS SUPPORT SPACEY


Oscar winner Kevin Spacey has launched a new website to help wannabe film-makers get their work seen by Hollywood talent spotters.

Some of the UK's top actors turned out to support the star of American Beauty celebrate the London launch of Triggerstreet.com.



Jeremy Irons, Helena Bonham Carter, Joseph Fiennes and Rhys Ifans were among the faces supporting the actor.

Ideas forum

Spacey is a long-time champion of new writing and theatre.

His production company, Trigger Street, set up the website to provide a forum for budding movie makers.

Screenwriters and directors can have their work reviewed by top actors and directors such as Sean Penn, Ed Norton and Cameron Crowe.

Sir Paul McCartney, Ronan Keating, Jade Jagger and Elton John's partner David Furnish were also among the stars who attended the glittering event.

New talent

Since its recent launch, 800 screenplays and 450 short films have been posted, attracting in excess of 13,000 reviews.

Triggerstreet aims to encourage and nurture new talent.

Those who get a break could be the next box office sensation.

One of the biggest movies of the year was My Big Fat Greek Wedding - written by a Hollywood outsider.
