jpenn11 I can't seem to read the file like you can. Here's some additionl information:

1. Mick Taylor We Love You and We'll Always Do!--seems to have the same glitch in SSC, which I suspect is on the original tape. Therefore, I think this is very likely to be the same source, although it obviously might have been "improved upon" by equalization, noise reduction, "remastering", etc. In case you want to explore further:

2. MTWLYAWAD seems to have been transferred to CD as late as December 94. Do you have the date of origin for your source?

3. Your times vs. MTWLYAWAD WinMedia times: all are within one second, usually just lopping off the hundredths (?) of a second below 60 on disc 1 and lopping off anything below a second on disc 2, except for the last song on each side. Disc 1, LIB, you show 7:37.09, but MTWLYAWAD shows 7:41 (total disc time 66:34.18 vs. MTWLYAWAD 66:39). Disc 2, SSB, you have 2:22:67, but MTWLYAWAD shows 2:26 (total time 66:34.18 vs. 66:39).

4. Starts and finishes for MTWLYAWAD:

Side 1 opening--UMT signature riff is played four times (through all the chord changes), probably missing the first one or two notes
Side 1 ending--YCAGWYW guitar theme is played twice before being cut out
Side 2 opening--YCAGWYW opens with crowd scream, then the infamous "guitar onslaught" comment repeated from Side 1
Side 2 ending--SSB ends when the feedback begins to tremolo

Hope this helps.

peterdv hi Daddy, gang,
i got the KC 12-14-81 yesterday,
and i listened to it and i compared with the Empress Valley release and it runs on the same speed, it means i have
this switch box between my dvd and cd player so i put both in and started at the same time
so i could flip to dvd - cd - dvd - cd and i heard no difference , the songs were fluently ..
so my guess (well, a very well calculated guess) is that we are talking about the same source
this KC is the Empress Valley release (or from the same tape)

so i agree with jpenn 11 , same source ..
but i can make a friend happy with it who hasn't got this one yet
thanks for the great service !!!!!!!
Peter

Yes: MICK TAYLOR WE LOVE YOU AND WE'LL ALWAYS DO 4CD (Empress Valley EVSD 210-213)

Not sure where to find the complete artwork online though: http://www.8ung.at/rmk/rss8089B158.htm

November 27th, 2004 05:55 PM
mac_daddy so what is on the other 2 discs - the tour's last show (without mick taylor, right?)..?

November 28th, 2004 09:47 PM
jpenn11 Yes, the last two discs were Kansas 12/15. Although I think it is a soundboard, others have said this 12/15 recording is an audience recording. I've not listened to it since hearing of this dispute.

I thought the last show in the USA was in Hampton.

And finally, yes, Mick Taylor was playing in Granite, Illinois with Alvin Lee (I believe) on 12/15, so he was not at the Stones show.

November 29th, 2004 10:50 AM
mac_daddy the last show was in hampton - i meant to type "the last show of that run" not "of the tour"

sorry for the confusion. (i should proofread before posting)

VoodooChileInWOnderl Part one of this trees is now in the archives, it went there automatically as you know, after the board reaches 150 topics, the last 50 are moved to an archive even if they are "sticky" threads.

The archive is here http://www.novogate.com/board/968/Archives/11-29-2004/203005-1.html
