Some Guy Just now getting into this story for the 1st time by the 2 dvd's, it is very compelling indeed. My wife is a fan and has been watching them and I've had time to get into it. Very intresting, I may read the books and anticipate the 3rd movie.
* Word to your Ronnie

Ten Thousand Motels Yes.. very compelling. But did you know that JRR Tolkein wrote those as an apology for "traditional" christianity? . But when they finally found out what he was saying they the books lost some popularity.

Some Guy did not know that, I don't look at it that way at all. Still cool though

Oh don't feel too bad. I finally "got" those alien moves not long ago. Ripley kicks ass...

Some Guy Never got into the Alien that much seems a little over the top, guess its all in the perception though. Probably the same folk that thought Harry Potter was demonic felt likewise towards LOTR.

rollme The books are much better then the movies.

J.J.Flash Hey guys, I am pretty anxious about it too! And I tell you that I can't get satisfied with only these 3 parts. Should be a continuation after that 3rd
11-29-03 01:34 PM
Some Guy Hmmmmm.
11-29-03 05:02 PM
KeepRigid Don't go into these things expecting to see Liv Tyler, cuz, she's not really in them that much.
11-29-03 05:31 PM
gypsy Liv who?
I've been waiting for Elijah Wood and Sean Astin to make hot homo hobbit love.
11-29-03 05:55 PM
Some Guy Gypsy, that was funny. There was a couple of points I thought somethings funny here
11-29-03 06:05 PM
Some Guy Not that theres anything wrong with that.
11-29-03 06:12 PM
gypsy I've just noticed some homosexual undertones developing with those two...they need to act on it...just get it over with.
Come to think of it, they remind me a lot of our very own josh and joey.
11-29-03 06:22 PM
Some Guy Yeah, those two are no where to be found on the weekends

Boy, I don't know about THAT. I read the series at least 4 times in high school, but in re-reading them with my son to get ready for the movies, I found JRR's prose a bit stiff. Still amazing, though.

The books are much better than the lousy Ralph Bakshi cartoons. The movies are magnificent, and close enough to the spirit of the books to satisfy the biggest Tolkien nut. Speaking from my inner 12-yr old self, I can't WAIT for the Return of the King. The Battle of Pelennor (sp) Fields is going to be the most amazing battle scene EVER.
11-29-03 07:28 PM
Some Guy I hear that is going to be tough
11-29-03 08:10 PM
TheSavageYoungXyzzy I have a friend out in California who's a SAG member and got to see it (lucky fucking bastard!) and said to me "Don't bring your girlfriend. You are going to cry like a baby."

Joke's on him! I'm single! I can cry all I want! (Damnit!)

I thought the books were pretty damn good, though the first one took *forever* to get going. "Here we are! In a nice place! And now we are running! And talking about leaves! And now we are sitting in a circle discussing our heritage! Oh, the story has finally begun! And... it's over."

I really really like Christopher Lee's character in the books. I think it's a shame they made him such a loser in the movies. Apparently, he's not even in this next one. They just kill him offscreen. They don't do the big thing at the end of the book which really got me to like the books, the whole idea of fighting for what really matters to you and so forth.

The movies are awesome beyond belief. I can't wait for that Pelennor Fields battle. Apparently, they have Orlando Bloom kill one of those Elephant things in the trailer single-handedly.

And there's a sequence with the hobbits singing intercut with a battle where my friend burst into tears. He says it's the best scene he's ever seen in any film, ever.

I'm packing Kleenex! Partly for the tears, partly for the mutliple orgasms that will follow the intense battle sequences!

Ah, it's great to be masculine!

-tSYX --- Oooooo... cry if you want...
11-29-03 08:15 PM
Some Guy Wow, thanks for the insight. I am stoked beyond recognition, the 3rd movie will be sad but great at one time. I think my wife will be one of those that burst into tears.
11-30-03 01:20 PM
gypsy But deep inside, your wife is secretly thinking: "I wish those damn hobbits would hurry up and fuck."
11-30-03 02:25 PM
Some Guy Do I smell a sequel?
11-30-03 02:37 PM
gypsy Sequel? No. Porn? Yes.
Ron Jeremy would do a hobbit.
11-30-03 02:44 PM
Some Guy Once you go hobbit.....
