Topic: Licks tour, average show time! Return to archive
11-26-03 03:40 AM
marko After taking time, from EACH licks show, what is circulating
at the moment,i decided to give some info.

Theatre shows:
The average show time of Theatre shows was 115minutes.
Couple were 2hours,longest one was New York Roseland ballroom, and vredenburg show, both shows run 123mins.
And shortest ones were
Sydney enmore 107mins
London astoria,the shortest one 103mins

Other ones were more or less,117,or 115mins.

Arena shows
these have actually very much difference,,,i noticed, that if
the set list was 21 or 22 songs,or 19,show time did not change a lot,it was a matter of WHAT songs was played.
The Average show time for arenas was 125mins.Length was
between 120mins-130mins,usually 128 or 123 or just 125mins.
The longest Arena shows were
New York HBO,which runs 143mins
New York 1.16.03,which runs 141mins

other long ones were Boston, the opener,Columbus,Boston, the
january show.

Australians&Miami were the shortest ones.
Miami runs only 114mins

all australian shows, after melbourne 25.2.03,were shorter
a lot shorter.
25.2 was still 126mins,while the 2nd day 27.2 was way below
2 hours,only 113mins!

Brisbane shows were also very short
4.3 runs only 104mins,but the recording is missing Sympathy!
5.3 runs, only 111mins,which is the shortest arena show of
the tour,,,,,,,,and the worst.

in europe, average arena show time was 120mins,Munich&paris
were 2-3minutes over 2hours,and London wembley arena 29.8
was 125mins,others were under 2hours,shortest one was
London 13.9,runs only 112mins.

The STADIUMS

the average show time for stadiums was, also 125mins.The
Longest one was Houston,in january, that show runs great
143mins
The Boston gillette stadium runs 139mins.
Also 1st tokyo 15.3 was 138mins!And is nearly my fave stadium show of the tour.
Other long ones were
Atlanta 138mins
La edison 135mins
Amsterdam 19.8 135mins

The rest of them runs that 125 or 120 or 126,or 130mins.
Mostly in europe 125mins.
Shortest ones were
Toronto SARS,open field show 102mins,but it wasnt a stadium.
Other short ones were
Paris stade de france and Helsinki, both run barely that 2hours.

all in all,the show time hasnt shortened so much as some
might think.
No security run 120mins,or just few minutes less.
BTB,was 130mins,and few very long ones,amsterdam,st.loius
and bremen
VL tour,runs 130mins,mostly.
SW-Urban jungle,was 135mins,couple very very long ones,in
USA,like Atlantic City and St.louis.

I took the time from intro to last noices of audience, some
recordings are including intros&outros, some are not.

and because i had nothing to do,i tought to share this info
with ya all....now,more coffee!

egon jb, where were you earlier?

i was pretty much all by myself (with 2 or 3 others) trying to keep the door closed. i'm still a bit frightened by the events that occured.

what do you think of licks btw? (and don't mean sales figures) and did you know i still haven't got it?

your 2nd best dutch friend,

egon

jb In all seriousness Egon, Licks was good, but not great. I liked the documentry, although again Keith was trying to make "spontaneous" comments which were quite obviously planned. I liked the stadium show at Twickenham, I thought MSG was average, and Olympia was really bad.

egon thanks man (nice how you picked up on the fact i ment flicks, rather than licks).

i'm looking foreward to getting it this weekend!
